Can Astrology Help Us Find Our Soul Mates?

Love is, for sure, the most desired and searched feeling since the beginning of time. If we take a look around us, we can clearly see that not all individuals have a happy love life and they are probably not holding hands with their soul mates. But here is interesting news that could give all these people hope: astrology experts claim they have found a certain method that could help us select our soul mate from the billions of people out there. How is this possible?

The method starts from the premise that astrology is, in fact, quite similar to mathematics and other exact sciences. Basically, the “soul mate technique” is defined as a synastry, which has the role of establishing whether two people are or not perfect for each other. In order to establish this fact, the specialists take into consideration the birth charts of both individuals, especially focusing on the exact place of the planets at the time of the individuals’ birth. But the analysis of the planet’s exact position is not a light matter.

Specialists sustain that some planets have more relevancy than others when comparing the birth coordinates, and these planets are the Sun and the Moon. In addition, the planets that form our solar system are also relevant, together with the houses that they form. But besides the most important planets, there is another major aspect that is taken into consideration by astrologists and that is the person’s ascendant.

Not many of us understand the relevance of this ascendant and tend to give much more importance to our regular sign. But this ascendant actually represents the position of the rising run at the birth moment. Why is this ascendant relevant in establishing the connection we could have with a possible partner? simply because this ascendant is basically our image, the image we reflect to the world, the way we present ourselves and the way in which the other see us and perceive us.

We already established the fact that the ascendant is relevant. But how can we know if we have the right ascendant and if we fit with our partner? Basically, in case we share the same ascendant with our partner, there are high chances for a great intimate relationship. But this is not all. When discussing a potential soul mate connection between two people, specialist also take into consideration the position of the moon in the women’s chart and the position of the sun in the man’s chart: in case the sun is in the same sign as the moon is for the woman, then specialists claim that they are dealing with soul mates.

Whether we believe or not in this astrological method and explanation, is our choice. And most probably, it is our reasonable choice. But when it comes to love matters and love-related expectations, some might try everything in order to achieve the desired love life and the desired partner. If we are looking at the facts from this perspective, we could say that there is nothing to loose in applying this astrological method to find our soul mate, as long as we don’t actually become the slaves of astrology or genuine fanatics.

Astrology Q&A – Star of David in Synastry

First I’d just like to thank everyone for the great questions and remind other Astrologers that their comments are welcomed here. I will get to some of the other questions posted when my schedule eases up a bit later in the week. When posting a Question please remember to ask something about Astrology so that others can also learn – this is not the place to look for a free reading. The Question: I was drawing up synastry charts over the weekend for myself and people I know. I found that I have effectively a Star of David (one point was 9′ from perfect) between my chart and my friends chart. (not to mention 6 other oppositions!)I know the Star of David is rare – what is its general meaning in synastry? ThanksThe Answer: Yes, a Star of David is Extremely rare.

But first lets define the Star of David. It is two interlocking Grand Trines, placed so that there are 6 sextiles formed by the two Grand Trines. For this reason the Star of David is also sometimes called a Grand Sextile. Within this pattern you will also see two crossed Mystic Rectanges. Any part of this pattern by itself is very powerful: A Grand Trine, a Kite, a Mystic Rectangle, a Half of a Grand Sextile (which is fomed by an opposition with two Sextiles on one side of it, all of which falls within one half of the chart wheel).

In order for any of this to apply the orbs must be within 3 degrees (sorry – 9 is just too far away). The meaning of the Pattern depends entirely on the planets involved. Different Geometry means diferent things. Just a few possibilites are: Grand Trine, Kite, Yod, Finger of Fate, Mystic Rectangle, Grand Square, T-Square – but there are others.
The Star of David is so rare in fact that it is almost never found in the charts of Individual people at all. Howard Huges had an almost Star of David in is Sun Chart (his destiny Chart). Tom Cruise is the rare individual who actually has a Star of David in his Destiny (Sun) Chart. Because it is in his Sun Chart you can’t see it on the usual Astrology Maps. I will post it on a protected page here on my Blog so that you can see it, along with a full listing of powerful planetary alignments – with pictures. As for your links with your friends – first make sure that you don’t use orbs that are too large. If you make your Charts at Astro.com (where you can have a free account), I recommend setting the orbs to 50% – that will give you a better idea of what you are really looking at. In some special cases I will stretch it out to 4′ – but NEVER more than that. Then look at the patterns that are there and understand that any geometrical alignment (and I’ve only listed a few here) is more powerful than nearly anything else you can have. Geometry formed with another person shows great synergy, power, combined efforts, the abilty to grow together, assist one another and generally achieve success together. However – and this is big – the way this can happen is entirely dependent on the planets involved and their relationships with each other. Unfortunately, as good as technology is, it can’t fully recognize patterns yet – so this type of geometry can only be seen accurately with human eyes.
Good for you for picking it out. Now, your ability to see what’s really going on in a chart (or chart synastry) will improve and so will your accuracy if you shrink your orbs down to 3′. I suspect that there will still be some very strong synastry with you and your friend, but now you will see what is most important in that Synastry. This will help you understand your relationships better. No matter what, you two are clearly part of the same soul family. And that is something to celebrate! The details of that relationship, and it’s connections hold the keys to understanding your soul’s purposes for knowing one another – and how you will assist one another towards your deepest life’s missions.

General forcast for May:
Many of the biggest problems that carried over from April finally pass their peak by May 8th. Meanwhile there is a frantic sense of urgency with which we are all trying to ‘get things done’. It is likely that we will get these tasks accomplished, but the bigger context within which we are working on them could change and render them moot. What we are experiencing is a simultaneous breaking down of unworkable systems while new more useful ones are being erected. We will all find our efforts most effective if we pay attention to what ‘flows’ and not put our energy where we feel we are beating heads against brick walls – take that brick wall as a sign to stop!

There are a few good windows of opportunity to get new things started in early May, but choose your timing very carefully. On the world stage there are huge pressures that are limiting the long-term viability of many types of plans and actions. The pressure of these forces makes this an ideal time to clear out ancient and useless rubble that may be blocking your life in some way. The Universe is breaking up obstacles, so you may want to work with that wave and let it help – not hurt – you. Any ‘things’ that need to be removed should go now – including dead trees, dry brush and old furniture, mismatched socks – not to mention outmoded attitudes and points of view.

This month Saturn advocates responsibility; and he intends to make sure of it. This means that we either accept the hard work willingly and with awareness or have it thrust upon us in the form of unwelcome burdens or obligations. These responsibilities are tied in with a Sun-Mercury Eclipse in oh-so-practical Taurus that highlights contracts, communications, teaching and performing. aries – There’s a big change on the horizon for you this month. By mid month you are tangled up with ideas like commitment, responsibility, and family obligations. Words like longevity and legacy have greater meaning in the current context and you must become clear that where you put your focused attention is what you will get more of in your life – if it matches you values then great, if not, it’s time for an adjustment.

taurus – Early in the month you may feel yourself in a deep power struggle or wrestling with some type of inner conflict. You may even be tempted to behave unpredictably in your search for a solution or peace of mind; the Taurus New Moon on the 16th signals a new beginning and while Venus is ‘out-of-bounds’ most of the month, you will be spiritually protected, and should be able to receive divine inspirations.

gemini – The Sun Mercury Eclipse creates system glitches and breakdowns the first two weeks of May. Now it becomes quite clear what systems need to be tossed and replaced. Structures that are dependent purely on ego or personality must now be replaced. If you are part of the cure, then you’ve got your work cut out for you – that’s a responsibility you can embrace with enthusiasm.

cancer – Are you coming or going? This month it’s probably both. On the 2nd is the Full Moon in Scorpio, which brings secrets, sexual tensions and transformations to their needed conclusions. Then the Taurus New Moon on the 16th launches a cycle of independent resources and practical plans. Finally the Blue Moon in Sagittarius on the 31st helps to put a philosophical conflict to rest, whew, what a month!

leo – The pressure is ON this month, and so are the changes. Be prepared to watch systems disintegrate before your very eyes – mostly dependent on financial changes. The handwriting has been on the wall for a long time, so this should not be a huge surprise, but it’s uncomfortable nonetheless. Being flexible and placing ideals above personality will go a very long way now.

virgo – You can jump in and make useful suggestions when the Sun-Mercury Eclipse shakes up trouble mid-month. Just be sure that your good ideas aren’t bent on saving a lost cause and are instead focused on real tangible solutions. There’s no use keeping this old jalopy afloat, there are much better – new – ways to do things.

libra – What ways have you been communicating up til now? Have they been working for you? If not then this will be highlighted this month and you will need to find a way to put an end to confusion and find a new way to speak your mind and ideas. Ideals first, personality second is the best rule if you want others to agree.

scorpio – Something ends for you early this month – signaled by the Scorpio Full Moon. What are you going to replace it with? Now more than ever your talent for transmutation, renovation and rehabilitation is in high demand, the only problem is figuring out what to do first. It’s best to just get started, people need you!

sagittarius – Words, words, words, those pesky emissaries of ideas. ‘Poets, priests and politicians have words to thank…’ sings Sting. But they are woefully inadequate for the task at hand, and you must find another way to get your message across. Nothing less than the death of a defunct Philosophy is at stake.

capricorn – “Little did he/she know…” is the crux of the matter now. There are things that you do not know about the current changes and transmogrification-taking place around you that will have a profound impact on what things will become. Right now, you get to be part of the secret magic of the unknown. Revel in its mystery.

aquarius – “I see,” said the blind man. When is it good to be the fool? When nothing less than blind trust in the universe is required for your ultimate mission. And now is such a time, because trying to figure out that, which you do not yet understand, would be like a blind man describing the color pink.

pisces – Let’s hear it for the unexpected! Fishes might as well embrace it this month, since you will have a healthy dose of it all month long, no matter how you try to safeguard against it. At least fishes know how to swim and can make good use of an unexpected downpour. Keep your swimming goggles handy.

Horary Astrology – Prediction of Future Events

The answering of questions of questions in the light of planetary influences is popularly known as Horary Astrology or the Prasna Sastra. It relates to the important events in the daily events and happenings of human life. This branch of astrology indeed forms the most useful and prominent aspect of astrological science.

It helps a lot in foretelling the occurrences of many important future events beforehand. How and when a event will take place, what may be their exact nature, when will they terminate favorably, who is instrumental for them and how far are those events beneficial or detrimental to the interest of the party concerned are all foretold by astrologers without reference to the birth chart.

If any obstacle or hindrance is thrown in the way of success of any undertaking or enterprise, and if such hindrances are ascertained beforehand by means of Horary Astrology, then ways to minimize such obstacles or hindrances or completely overcome such evils can be resorted, so that in future no things smoothen out in future and progress can be made.

In the case of horary astrology, we first of all ascertain the exact time at which a question is asked and for the time mark, the positions of planets and the Ascendants is determined. The ascendant is called the Prasna Lagna or the rising sun at the time of the question.

1.The success and failure in any undertaking, such as the starting of business, examination results etc. should be predicted with reference to the Prasna lagna. The object of the person involved will succeed if a beneficial sun rises and joins the favorable navamsa.

2.If at the time of the query, the rising sun be in the 1st, 4rth, and the 7th ; 2nd, 5th and 8th; and in the 3rd, 6th and the 9th navamsas, the question refers to minerals, vegetables and animals respectively in an odd sign and in an even sign, the reverse holds good.

3.If at the time of query, the Saturn is found in an odd sign from the prasna lagna, the woman will have a male child, and if Saturn occupies an even position, a female child will be born.

4.If the Saturn is in the 7th house, the person asking the question will be married within three months from the date of asking the question.

5.If at the time of query, it is found that the Sun, Venus or Mars joins the 7th house, it refers that the person involved has an extra marital affair. Jupiter in the 7th house indicates that the woman is a prostitute and Saturn indicates that the person is a low caste man.

6.Any planet between the 8th house and the ascendant, predicts the safe return of a person who has gone to foreign land.

7.Recovery from illness should be predicted if the benefic are in prasna lagna.

8.Predict the nature of stolen article by considering the navamsa of the rising sun, the nature of the thief by drekkana and the age and the thief by the lord of the ascendant.

9.During the rainy season, predict early rain when the Saturn and Venus occupy the 7th house from the sun and the moon respectively and if the Saturn and Venus are in the 4th and 8th house from the prasna lagna.

Suppose a person wants to know whether his stolen goods can be regained or not, whether an individual suffering from serious illness will recover or not, whether it would be profitable to invest money in any business or not, whether a man will be beneficial through speculation or not, all such questions can be successfully answered with the Horary astrology and by following the above principles.

Astrology Q&A: Saturn in the Dark, or Station Direct

The Question: Hi. Just wondering about something I heard this past week. I was told that Saturn was turned somehow to make it dark for the past couple of weeks. All I really know is that myself and about 10 of my friends have had the worst last 10 days. As in, the worst things that have ever happened to us have happened just recently, all independantly of eacho other. I am all about taking personal responsibility, but I also know that nature gives us patterns for a reason. I would like to know what Saturn was doing through the middle of April so that I might take more care if it ever comes around again. Thanks.

The Answer: First of all, thanks for your question and I invite comments from other Astrologers always! I found a few resources about this online. But first of all, Saturn changed directions in April. It stationed and turned Direct on April 20th – so most likely what you are referring to is the impact that this had on all of your charts.

Since you are talking about a group of friends who are probably close in age, I expect that all of you either share a generational Signature in your chart – such as Pluto, Uranus or another slow moving body OR you have other cross linking aspects with each other. Generation Y has Pluto in Scorpio (which would have been very hard hit by Saturn) – but most of them are still children. It sounds like all of your friends were transited at the same time by Saturn. Since Saturn made it’s Station Direct on the 20th – the days before and after would have had the greatest influence; that would be from the 15th-25th. Then, for you and your friends who had planets or sensitive points at 15′-21′ degrees of Leo, Taurus, Scorpio, Aquarius, Pisces or Capricorn this would have been a very challenging time period. I happen to have 2 Taurus planets and 1 in Scorpio that were hit by Saturn then, and I wound up with an allergy attack that’s kept me sick for 3 weeks! And I never get sick. Sometimes different Astrologers use different language to describe the same thing, and you may have read something about Saturn entering or exiting it’s Shadow – which is another element of what I am talking about here. This may be what you are referring to as ‘dark.’ As you can see from the links below, Saturn is actually quite bright. But if you really want to know what was happening then get an Astrology Report for that time.

As for it coming around again, the planets are always on the move, so something is always happening – but you’re not likely to get that same transit (influence) again for a long time.  But you’re right that understanding it can help you be prepared if it comes around again.
