Mercury turns Direct on the 10th at 2′ Cancer and then Mercury leaves his shadow on the 24th. This means that most of July is spent recovering whatever Mercury related issues came to the surface in June. On July 27 Venus Retrogrades in Virgo at 3′ - this is a very sticky scenario all the way into August. There is more here than meets the eye, and wealth is possible. Just be prepared for many changes and reversals along the way as the summer unfolds.
aquarius - It’s like you’ve been ripping through all your old desk files and creating quite a mess as you pull everything out to be seen. This allows you to completely re-organize and systemize everything. Whew! By the end of July you will be VERY proud that job is finished. Once you know what you have and where everything is, you can begin to look for others who provide the missing keys to your empire. You may have to try out a few candidates over the summer before you settle on what you really want, but it’s bound to be an educational experience!
pisces - The fallout from communication dramas has benefited you. Perhaps you tend to play ‘mama (or papa) bear’ to your crew, certainly right now everyone feels like one of your children and your parental instincts are super strong. Today is the peak of the Saturn - Neptune opposition I have been speaking about on this blog since last summer. This aspect was nearly exact on the dates when Pam Anderson and Kid Rock got married (the first time). When I saw the announcement my first thought was, “That’s terrible timing. This marriage might last about 5 mintues.” And while I am a romantic and I always root for love, I know what a Saturn - Neptune opposition can do and I would NEVER choose to purposely start something important while it was in effect. This is ESPECIALLY TRUE for marriage. It’s too bad about Kid and Pamela, that marriage lasted 3 months. Not the shortest marriage in Hollywood history - but close!
This Saturn - Neptune aspect is notorious for breaking things down, that includes relationships, electronics and many long-standing deals, financial arrangements, minerals, titles, intellectual rights and much, much more. Over the weekend I heard big ads on the radio for Car Sales - this would have been a really BAD time to buy a new car. My recommendation is that if you bought an electronic this weekend: take it back and exchange it after Thursday. Believe me, you don’t want to go through the PC nightmare I had a few years back, no, I don’t wish that on anyone. Not so much because of the Retrograde Mercury - but because of the Saturn -Neptune opposition. So, don’t feel bad if an appliance or Telephone has died. Or if another larger ending has taken place, look at it as a time of clearing that will make way for something better to replace the old thing.
The Middle East: This is why the Palestinian situation has escalated to such a state of impossiblity. It is beyond over between the opposing parties in this region of the world. Oh, did I mention that Neptune governs oil and religion among other things. This crisis will continue to peak until July 20th, with the greatest (and most delusional) forms of violence taking place between the 14th - 20th. It’s no accident that one of the top Yahoo News stories today is about a Bagdad Bombing.
The Good News: This week just brings fallout from the Saturn - Neptune aspect, since (after today) the worst part is over. (The Middle East violence however is NOT - Mars moves too quickly and too often for that part to end now.) But you still won’t want to start anything important until July begins. Also, good news is that by the end of July we will be done with this aspect for the foreseeable future - and we’ve been feeling it off and on since last Fall. It was strong in December, November, March and June.
The Last Gasp: It’s almost, but not quite finished. While this aspect appers to be over by most Traditional Astrology standards, it isn’t quite so. We get one last gasp of the Saturn - Neptune opposition in the sky by elevation. This takes place on July 17th, making the week of July 15-20 a final time for endings, clearings, breakdowns and break-ups. Again, don’t start anything that you’d like to see last during this date range.
It CAN be useful: Let’s think of a few ways that this energy can work to your benefit; getting out of restricting contracts is one use for this energy. In other words, use it to break ties that you want broken for good: finalize divorce papers, get rid of pesky pests, break bad habits, let go of unhealthy beliefs, plug holes and stop leaks in your plumbing, your finances and your energy. Stop addictions and heal from them. Some ties need to be broken - now is the time to do it permanently.

The Summer Solstice is the day when the Earth is at it’s closest point to the Sun for the whole year. It is also the longest day of the year.
The Summer Solstice always happens at the 0′ of Cancer, and any person who is born on the cusp of any sign has a direct relationship with all 4 season changes. Each change of season happens at the 0′ of a Cardinal sign. Cardinal signs are about leadership and new beginnings/endings. Endings and new beginnings are always deeply connected since we cannot have one without the other.
The Season changes are: The Spring Equinox at 0′ Aries which signals the Solar New year every year. Day and night are equal length on this day (and you can balance an egg - see my video about this).

Every year Mercury goes Retrograde 3 times. Each Retrograde cycle consists of three parts 1) Entering the Shadow 2) Retrograde and 3) Leaving the Shadow. Each full Mercury cycle lasts 2 months. Because of this at least 6 MONTHS out of every year is effected by a Mercury Cycle! Keep a bottle of Angel’s Song handy as the anti-dote for Mercury problems.

The Summer Solstice degree is one that is very close to my heart, since it is the home of my Moon (0 Cancer and at the most extreme Declination - thus exactly at the Summer Solstice degree).
These early degrees of Cancer (also opposing Pluto) get a very thorough workout for the rest of the year and into next year. First by this years Cancer New Moon, then 3 times by the next Retrograde of Mercury (who enters the shadow at 2′ Cancer). Then in the fall/winter Mars Retrogrades across these same degrees 3 times. This impacts the USA, President Bush and Tom Cruise, among other things. I will be posting a thorough forcast on this next week.
But this is an extremely passionate and intense degree, so don’t expect anyone to keep a cool head during the transits. The Solstice Degrees - Summer and Winter are at the greatest extremes of emotion and experience. The Winter Solstice is masculine and extremely cold. The Summer Solstice is feminine and very hot. There is no such thing as moderation in either one of them.
First of all, let’s bust some useless Astrology Myths! By far the most commonly recognized Retrograde is Mercury Retrograde. But Mercury is not the only planet to go Retrograde. In fact every planet except the Sun and Moon go retrograde at some time or the other. That means Retrograde can apply to Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Pluto, Neptune, Uranus, Sedna and even all the Asteroids: Chiron, Pallas, Juno, Vesta, and Ceres. Mercury Retrograde just happens more often - 3 times a year to be exact.
What is a Retrograde? Every so often the planets do a fancy dance step in the sky: they stop, appear to walk backwards (like the Michael Jackson Moonwalk), stop again and then recover that lost territory. They actually make a big Z motion in the sky - like a skybound Zorro.
How long does Retrograde last? It depends on the planet. Anywhere from 3 weeks to 6 months the planet will actually be moving backwards. But this answer is deceptive because the Retrograde Cycle lasts a lot longer than the actual retrograde. Only paying attention to the actual retrograde is like trying to understand the letter Z based only on the slash / that comprises the middle of the letter while ignoring the front and back tails of the letter.
Retrograde actually has 3 parts: These three parts are called, Entering the Shadow, being Retrograde and Exiting the Shadow. Entering the Shadow is like the first stroke of Zorro’s blade when he starts to make the Z - this is the top of the letter. When any planet is traveling across the sky, minding his own business - there is a moment when it prepares to enter Retrograde - this is called Entering the Shadow. This happens when the planet crosses that point in space that he will Retrograde Back to. Like the / slash in Zorro’s Z, on the second leg of it’s journey it returns to this same level in space. For Example: Let’s say that Mercury is whizzing along, ejoying himself, then he finds himself entering the Shadow. The experience while he is IN the shadow (and before Turning Retrograde) is like forshadowing in a movie - or a Preview of Coming Attractions. This is when we are actually given Advance Notice of the things to come. Then when we are in Retrograde and the problems emerge. This is when we SEE what needs to be fixed. These are the same things that we were given Advance Notice about during the first Shadow. Then a few weeks (or months, depending on the planet) later it goes DIRECT again. But we’re still not done. Zorro isn’t finished until he makes that final stroke of the Z. The final tail of the Z is also called the Shadow. But this time it is called exiting the Shadow. And this is the time when we catch up with all the problems we experienced during the Retrograde and are able to feel the results of the solutions we created.
Using Zorro as our example, let’s say that the masked hero is running along and passes an alley, where he sees a crime taking place. He then turns around (this is called going Station Retrograde) in order to come back to the scene of the trouble and fight it out to fix it. From the time he has seen the trouble until the time it takes him to slow down and turn around he has entered the Shadow At that moment when he turns around he has Gone Retrograde. Once he gets back to the scene and handles the situation he then turns around again (this is called going Station Direct). As he continues on his way, he is still Exiting the Shadow, until he is able to pass that point where he first saw what needed to be taken care of - before he managed to slow down and change directions. We assume that his is feeling happy and proud on this last leg of the Z for a job well done. Then he continues on about his business as usual. And his whole journey resembles the letter Z.
Imagine the possibilities that open up for you just from understanding that there are 3 parts to a planet’s Retrograde. Imagine that now you can get Advance Notice of what you will be needing to fix, just by paying attention to the stars. Each time there is a Retrograde, the issues and domaine of the Retrograde planet come up to be fixed. Below is a partial list of what each Retrograde cycle means.
Mercury: Mind, thinking, words, short journeys, communication, software, driving, neighbors, pets, co-workers, employees and siblings. Venus: Values, attractions, that which we desire or which desires us, money, art, movable wealth (like jewelry or jemstones), beauty, the law of attraction. Mars: Action, war, agression, sports, athletics, dance, movement, muscles, competition, the desire to win, knives, guns, cutting instruments, new beginnings. Jupiter: Learning, long journeys, the legal system, foreigners, myths, stories, symbolism, publishing, philosophies, group agendas, the search for truth, forgiveness. Saturn: Hardship, burdens, karma, struggle, rules, order, time, structure, organization, growing up, bad lawsuits, control, domination, fear, pettiness, cruelty. Pluto: Big business, compusions, power, transformation, use of mass resources, explosions, unseen roots, pyschology, hypnotherapy, money from success or mass systems. Uranus: Politics, the needs and desires of the masses; public utilities, mass transit, railroads, shipping, the Internet, social groups, awards galas & events, peer recognition, mathematics, astrology, classical music, TV & broadcasting equipment. Neptune: Organic compounds or resources from the earth or oceans (including animals), religion, spirituality, illusion, make-up, film, chemicals, biological sciences, mud and other maleable substances, fog and other cloudlike substances, the astral plane, lower level psychic information (often filled with illusion, or addiction), addictions, drugs and undirected or undisciplined altered states of consciousness, deception.
This is nowhere near a complete list, but it should stimulate some brain cells! Astrology is a complicated system, but by simply understanding the meanings of a Retrograde Cycle you can gain worlds of insight about what may be currently effecting you. The planets closest to the Sun - Mercury, Venus and Mars have a relatively short cycle which lasts just a few months. But the very far off planets like Pluto have very LONG cycles that can last for a decade or longer. Weather it is the Retrograde Mercury or a Retrograde Mars, or Pluto that you are wondering about, I am sure you can get a better understanding of what each one means from this simple guide.

Yes, it’s here. They announced it on Yahoo today - the Iphone will officially be released on June 29th.
My FIRST reaction upon hearing the news was to break into laughter. Not because the phone is funny, but becuase the TIMING IS EXCELLENT. You see it is being a released a few days after the Saturn - Neptune opposition is exact (which happens on the 25th). What this means for the iPhone is that they are dodging the bullet. The proverbial bullet is this Saturn-Neptune opposition which has a habit of killing off electronics and ending things. This makes me think that Steve Jobs has the foresight to get REALLY GOOD Astrological guidance. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit.
When I look at the chart for June 29th I am further convinced that he has an excellent Astrologer. Charts this good almost never happen by accident. The Sun is out of bounds making it literally untouchable by the competition. Moon conjunct Pluto makes for an almost obsessive hunger for the product by the public. Oh baby, you haven’t seen anything yet. Apple stock jumped $3 with the release of this news. But this is just the beginning.
When Steve Jobs made his annual keynote speech announcing the iPhone for the first time, my jaw dropped. I have never wanted an electronic device this much! It is literally the coolest thing I have ever seen - and I haven’t even gotten one into my hot little hands yet. OK, I admit my bias. I am already a raving Apple fan. I can’t even begin to describe the level of problem, frustration and difficulty I had using PC’s. But then I finally looked at my chart compared to Microsoft and it couldn’t be MORE incompatable! So, I am off that system for good. But the iPhone is something completely new, and we should all be ready to see it literally bury the competition.

Mercury in the Shadow on May 30th means that we are now in the cycle where we are given Advance Notice of what will be coming and happening during the upcoming Retrograde of Mercury from June 16-July 10. During the 3 weeks of Retrograde the degrees of 2-12 Cancer are getting a serious workout. Anybody reading this with planets between 29 Gemini - 15 Degrees Cancer will feel this transit DIRECTLY and be at the center of the action - especially planets between 29 Gemini - 5 Cancer and 11-15 Cancer.
This whole cycle lasts for 2 months, even though retrograde is only for 3 weeks. Check back on Thursday when I will be posting a guide for understanding Retrograde Planets.
An example: the USA’s twhared terroism attack on JFK took place just after Mercury entered the shadow on the 30th of May. Since this shadow is (unfortunately) just a Preview of Coming Attractions over the next 2 months, and since the USA’s Sun falls within the highlighed degrees of Cancer for this cycle we should EXPECT to see and hear more about this over the coming 2 months. Actually: for the rest of this year because the USA’s Sun is getting (other) major transits well into 2008. As an entity the Sun of the country represents its leadership (presidency). Never before in history has the time been so ripe for a woman to take office. While it would be premature for me to predict Hilary for president - I will predict that our next president could be a woman because for the first time in history the climate is right for it, and the planets predict a fight of enormous proportions (I cannot overstate how enormous this fight will be) over issues exactly like this one. If there is truly any such thing as Evil (and the Buddhists would say that there is not) then it is the force of Evil that has been repressing the divine feminine for the past several centuries. Regardless of Good and Evil - it is the face of duality and our understanding of IT and the polarity of Gender that is now in need of, and at the beginnings of PROFOUND change.
Personally and individually the issues need not be crises or problems (like this USA transit), but they will be problems if bad seeds have been sown. This is the case for us in the USA - these transit related events are the results of bad seeds being sewn. This transit harks back to 2000 when Saturn entered Cancer under a Void Moon. This cycle threw the masses of our population into a deeply unconscious state. Now it is time to begin to wake up. The events will be as dramatic as they need to be in order to awaken those who have been asleep. This is the emerging of the Divine Feminine - and she can be fierce in her fury. But only for those who would repress, control or put her down.

Today is a very good day financially, not just to purchase something, but also for savings or other business deals. This good financial vibe holds until Wedsday, but today is the best day of the cycle. It’s a great time to get yourself a ‘lucky rabbits’ foot that you can wear!
