September 2nd ~ Saturn Moves OUT of Leo and INTO Virgo.

OOOh, Saturn look so beautiful with those magical rings. But everything is not as it appears. The current cycle is complex with layers of meaning and implications.

• Never mind that these Saturn movements are deeply tied to the current Venus Retrograde: has anyone else heard the news stories about Nationwide - America’s largest Mortgage lender?? The Venus Retrograde Cycle Started on July 28th, and goes direct on Sept 9.
• Never mind that there is a complete Lunar Eclipse merely a few days before (August 28th) in Pisces, the ‘Other Half’ to Virgo.
• Never Mind that there is another Eclipse a few days later - this time a Solar Eclipse in the sign of Virgo herself. Each one of these points is extremely important all on it’s own. So I will be devoting a post to each one in the coming weeks. But never mind all of that for now.

Here’s a good overview of Saturn in Virgo: issues and problems of health come to the surface, this includes pyhysical health, mental health and emotional health, as well as the health of pets, co-workers and employees. It also refers to healthcare systems and beaurocracies. Peevey little beurocratic details are up for every single one of us to look at in the coming 3 year cycle. If you’ve ever gotten lost in a ‘customer service’ phone maze for some large corporation then you may have some idea of what I am referring to. The most brilliant personification of this idea struck me like a brick when I went to see ‘Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.’

Imelda Staunton is ‘make you squirm in your seat’ brilliant as Deloroes Umbridge. And this character is just what Saturn in Virgo is all about. She even dresses in a way that illuminates this idea (Virgo rules tailoring). All syrupy and saccharine in deep pinks and bows this character has all the emotional sensitivity of the Marquis de Sade.

Let’s not forget that Saturn’s pretty rings are mostly used to cut through the ’stuff’ in our lives that needs to be examined more closely. With a 3 year treck through Virgo this includes ideas like manners, perfection of presentation (anorexia), and details gone mad. The tendency during this 3 year transit is for the world to value style over substance.

It is certainly not all bad, but we can definitely expect to see the burdens of women - those placed upon them, those they embrace, or those they place upon others - to be more prominently revealed.

Those who will do best during Saturn in Virgo are people with strong Taurus and Capricorn energy. Both of these signs emphasize real substance, practical values, a balanced head and hard work over details. For these people the details of Saturn in Virgo will just supply the needed ‘polish’ to make them stand out and sparkle.

Next up are those with strong Cancer and Scorpio energy (and by energy I mean any planet or angle, not just the Sun). Both of these watery friends should have enough resilience, compassion and persistence to wear away at the relentless perfectionism of Saturn in Virgo.

Now is the time to make sure that everyone involved in a deal feels that they have gotten a ‘fair shake.’ Unfairness leads to rugs getting pulled.

And finally Gemini and Sagittarius planets will be the ones who have some of the biggest challenges of all. It depends of course on individual chart patterns, but the square of Saturn to Gemini or Sag planets brings up tough negotiation issues, conflicts of values and philosophies. Frenzies of words leave only the most verbally talented among us unscathed by knotted tongues, and razor wit - lash. Both the brilliance of words and their cruelty leaves marks too deep to be seen by the human eye. If there is one thought I can leave you with now it is this: DO NOT GOSSIP. Gossip is just about the lowest human vibration available, and the person it most harms is the gossiper. Maybe not right away, but eventually it always comes back. With Saturn in Virgo gossip can be deadly. Purge the poisons by looking within and removing any need to lower the standing of others by putting them down. We never become better when someone else suffers, ultimately we only hurt everyone. Kindness, kindness, kindness - please!

Yes the ultimate lesson of Saturn in Virgo is to teach us kindness and his razor sharp rings serve to cut through anything that is NOT KIND in order to purge and eliminate it. While Saturn in Virgo may not be easy, it ultimately teaches us the value of kindness.
