This Solar Eclipse takes place Sept 11 at approximately 7:45 am PST at 18′ Virgo.

The Eclipse aspects Neptune, Uranus and Mars on the Physical level. Emotionally it connects with Mercury and Juno, Mentally: Neptune and Vesta, and Spiritually: Neptune and Uranus.

Solar Eclipse’s have the tendency to hide something from view – especially father figures, and other males in authority roles. This will often be a strong influence in a clients chart when a boss leaves the job, etc.

This particular Eclipse degree is just outside of the Mars Retrograde cycle that lasts all fall and into spring of ‘08. Whew, that’s a close one. But it IS aspected by the Mars transits, which is not good. New wars or battles are likely to simply go on endlessly. But the destructive force is not quite as bad as it could be. Mars Squaring the Eclipse causes sudden and unexpected upheaval for the next 3 months. This is especially true in the housing markets. Business and technology industries, as well as the stock markets and agriculture are likely to be effected too, this is the aspect of the ‘coup’ or hostile takeover. So, now and then again in Mid April we will see agressive attempts at wrestling power from the recognized leader or authority in a specific arena. There is plenty of fantasy afoot too, so sexuality could be kind of intense, stamina is strong!

Good mannars, makeovers and clearing out the underbrush of our personal, and physical lives is about the best use of this energy that I can think of. Potential health issues or problems rise to the surface to be cleared away and dealt with. This is a great time to begin eating better and exercising more. This Eclipse brings information to the surface that makes us think about and commit to long term plans. It also wants us to become specifically clear as to our role in the greater community and make sure that we are making the best contribution possible. Crisis, upheaval and drama that emerges now serves to put us into closer connection to these issues.

The needs of the masses are both highly effected by Eclipse events AND subject to big changes and turmoil. This Eclipse will show where old systems are breaking down, and require that those with the energy and ability – step in and do something about it. People who are not being ‘of service’ are very likely to be unseated.

Venus changed directions yesterday (Sunday), so we should begin to feel movement and resolution around the financial matters that she hung up for the past month.

Among other things the Venus Retrograde effected:

• Property Matters (remember the Sub-prime mortgage fiasco a few weeks ago).
• Artwork
• luxury items & jewelry
• beauty products
• finances/financial transactions
• your sense of security!
• personal values
• love & partnerships
• creativity
• matters of ‘ownership’
• sensuality/massages

Now that she has changed directions the ‘re-do’ period is over. But we’re not finished yet. Venus doesn’t leave her shadow until October 12th. This is an EXTREMELY COMPLEX Astrological picture, and is related to the August Eclipse, Saturn, and the upcoming Retrograde of Mercury.

This final leg of Venus’s 3 pronged journey represents the final clean-up period for the previous two segments of the journey – a journey which began back on June 23rd. The short story is that issues in the Mortgage Industry are not over yet. Expect to hear more bad news in Mid October. You can read my previous post about this here.

On a personal level: Venus changing directions means that relationship issues will be up in the air as one or both parties undergoes an evaluation of their partnership(s) in order to decide if it really fulfills on enough levels. Also, money is likely to be a big issue in most relationships now – as well as personal security. Many of us will be asking ourselves: “Am I only staying because it is comfortable and makes me feel safe? And is this a good enough reason?” Matters of property and finance will need to also be addressed as they relate to personal and business partnerships.

Venus Retrograde, and now direct and working through her shadow asks us all to review our bank accounts, personal posessions, relationships and personal values and see if they are still appropriate. If not, Venus asks us to make the necessary changes.
