Jupiter made his move into Capricorn on Dec 18 where he’ll hang out for the next year.  He’s not very comfortable or happy exactly in Capricorn, but he does make us all focus on the bottom line, and become somewhat obsessed with our progress in the ‘race to the top.’  During this year period we all want - and achieve - milestones, status symbols and major accomplishments. When we DON’T hit those goals, we need to watch out for the tendency to be too hard on ourselves.

Another lesson that Jupiter in Capricorn can leave us with is is the price we pay for too much of a good thing.   Addictions and overindulgences have major consequences to pay during this cycle. I expect a lot of people will be forced to get sober, or tighten the belt in other ways.

One of the best things this placement does for us all is to allow us to slow down, measure out steps and achieve realistic step-by-step steady progress.  Not so glamorous or exciting, but very solid and lasting.  The Signs who are happiest with Jupiter in Capricorn are Capricorn, Taurus, Virgo and watery Pisces and Scorpio. Cancer, Libra and Aries are forced to face unpleasant realities during this year, especially those that force them to give up a luxury, habit, indulgence or excess that is unhealthy on some level.  Ultimately Jupiter in Capricorn rewards hard work and responsibility, which is a very good thing!
