With the pollsters all over the place - and very unreliable these days, the Huffington Post launched a new segment called HuffPollstrology which is certainly entertaining. But it’s not enough to predict the winners, for that you need a real Astrological look, like the one I give in my 2008 Presidential Prediction post. Check it out, and then remember that there’s a looooong way between here and November.
I fully expect both sets of Eclipses to create drama and upset in the pollsters predictions. Those Eclipses take place in February (7th & 21st) just in time to have an impact on the Feb 5th Super Tuesday (some news outlets are calling it SuperDuper Tuesday) - where 24 states hold elections. And then in August (1st & 16th) - just in time for the political Conventions to be really Unconventional.
The February 7 Solar Eclipse takes place conjunct Neptune and Retrograde Mercury (Mercury Retrograde) - virtually guaranteeing some upsets and confusion. The Feb 21 Lunar Eclipse gives us the Moon conjunct Saturn both opposed to the Sun - all of which paints the picture of gender opposition. The August 1 Solar Eclipse once again conjuncts Mercury which literally has the impact of throwing someone’s plans out the window. The August 16 Lunar Eclipse gives us the Moon conjunct Neptune and Chiron opposing the Sun, suggesting a deep chasm among what American’s feel are their real ‘family values’ and how they are expressed in the political landscape. Fasten your seatbelts, we’re about to go where no man has gone before.
