Mercury is no longer Retrograde, but he won’t leave his shadow until the Fourth of July – which should make for an interesting display of patriotism, especially in the media and in computer discussions (both ruled by Mercury). Meanwhile Apple has announced that the iPhone with new G3 software will be available on July 11, a full week after the Retrograde shadow is ovuh! Good news. This platform will be stable and incredibly powerful, so if you’ve been holding off on getting your shiny new gadget, now’s the time to pounce.
I fully believe the NY Times when they say that we are witnessing the birth of a new software platform, now there’s windows, mac and iPhone. I’m not kidding. The repositioning of Mercury in Gemini on that date and other power aspects virtually guarantee a sell-out of the gizmo. Get in line!
The New Moon on the 2nd takes place at 13′ Cancer and this months Full Moon is at 26′ Capricorn on July 18th. In other words, goodbye papa, hello mamma! Cancer New beginnings favor motherhood, community, emotional ties and emotional bonding. The Full Moon brings an end to rigid father-figure rules and restraints. It can also end a job title, relationship status or other worldly label we may feel accustomed to. Weeheee! Overthrow them there structures and dive into the depths of your emotions this month. On a more basic level, I see this as not paying attention to the rules so much and trusting those inner ‘nudges’ more. I for one am using this influence to fight a traffic ticket.
Aries: The month begins with you kicking into high gear and getting a lot done. You can even connect with powerful people and leverage the efforts of others now. But around the 7th-11th you will suddenly feel mired in concrete and faced with obstacles. Plow through, it gets better. Towards the end of the month you are feeling family oriented and around the 26th you have luck on your side.
Taurus: This month you are ahead of the curve and where you lead, others will follow. You have the prescience to be about a week ahead of a powerful figure, and this makes you come off looking like a genius. Gather your big plans together, express your big vision and inspire a team to follow you. They’re doing it anyway, you might as well have a destination in mind.
Gemini: The doorway that is opened by the New Moon on the 2nd (in Cancer) is just begging you to run through it on the Full Moon (in Capricorn) of the 18th. Be very careful with this one, it is very likely that someone’s reputation will get trashed in this process. Publishing, storytelling and the feelings of the ‘crowd’ are all highlighted. We’ve got the fixins for a ‘mob-think’ kinda moment goin’ on. On the other hand, there’s never been a better time to buy cheap mortgages – just do your due diligence.
Cancer: The crowd is all over at your house, and they show no signs of leaving any time soon. That’s probably fine by you, you love a good sing-a-long, especially with a fired up bar-b-que (hold the tainted tomato’s please). It’s times like these when you get to really stretch out, feel your castle king or queenliness and gather all your guests around for some good old-fashioned storytelling.
Leo: Someone’s excessiveness is wearing very thin about now. I wonder how much you can indulge them anyway? Yawn, you’ve heard it all before, seen it all before. You couldn’t be more tired of the same old hot air. It’s gonna take a lot more than words to sway your opinion now, there’ s too much water under those Bridges of Madison County.
Virgo: Like Gemini, this months Moon’s set you up for a one-two punch, but for you it is in the areas of kids and social scene. A little empty nest syndrome never killed anyone. Your offspring (literal or creative) need to fly and be free to go out into the world on their own eventually. That’s the only way they can ever be strong and successful. Think of this as evidence of the good job you’ve done.
Libra: After mid month, you feel like a social animal all of a sudden. Yes, you want to go to the party, you want to turn heads, you want to roar out loud. OK, I’m not stopping you. This Full Moon is about activation of our inner senses, our psychic perceptions and our deepest truth. This is not a light fluffy Moon by any stretch of the imagination (even if it IS in Sagittarius). You see, it’s complicated, just like the dreams, visions and inner turmoil that you are having. There is deep stuff afoot, so watch out for those crazy neon angler fish from the deep!
Strange and churning images explode onto the consciousness as something deep within the soul is being awakened by this Sagittarius Full Moon. The Galactic Center being activated, is literally activating the deeper meaning and purpose that exists behind the mundane level of our lives. In other words: the stable but unsatisfying job just won’t cut it any longer – the soul demands something more. The same is true for the ’secure’ or convenient relationship. Nope. Not enough. Time to pay attention to the soul and what it needs. The duality of Gemini-Sagittarius presents us with a clear cut polarity, a sense of love vs. lust, money vs. happiness, and on and on. Each of us may have a different X vs. Y scenario, but that doesn’t make it any less profound and meaningful for each and every one of us. A Full Moon by it’s very nature is always about duality – because it is always an opposition of the Sun and the Moon.

The real JUICE from Astrology for you, dear reader, comes from understanding the aspectsNeptune is making as he travels through Aquarius.
Aspects are good or bad depending on their geometry – the angles they make and the overall patterns that they are part of.
A square is hard, a trine is usually a blessing. But the PATTERN is more important than just these aspects alone.
When Neptune is part of a Grand Cross (currently that would be in Fixed signs: Taurus, Scorpio, Aquarius & Leo) it is very different than if he was part of a Grand Trine (currently that would be in Air signs: Gemini, Libra & Aquarius).
Neptune as part of hard aspects in the fixed signs will be about money, identity, social scene and debt. It will also be about our connection to fixed and inflexible points of view. Neptune will help to melt those stubborn streaks. It may be hard to take though, since squares and oppositions bring crisis to the surface. Neptune in Square or opposition will also help bring something to a screeching halt. Endings may appear sudden, but usually they’ve been brewing for a long time.
Neptune in Trine helps to grow something, make it last, give it some spiritual ‘glue’ and help it to stick. Currently in air signs, this means that ideas, words and rules are being nourished by Neptune.
One of the reasons that it is so hard for people to get a handle on what a Neptune transit will do, is that Neptune is in charge of so very many parts of our lives. This means that there are really a TON of possibilities in how he can manifest. Forgetting or losing our memory of something and having it Zero-ed out is just one of a great many possibilities. Others include: selling, growing things, dealing with minerals or oil… But there are too many to list here.
There are other patterns that he can be part of as well, and each one has a major meaning: The kite, the unequal triangle, the Yod, the mini Trine, the mystic rectangle the dreaded T-Square and on and on. So the story of the huge and slow transits of Neptune in Aquarius will be told by the PATTERN he’s making – with the other planets in the sky, and with the planets in your own personal Chart.
EXAMPLES: Problems: Neptune in Aquarius is creating a Grand Cross for fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) which creates stress and tension around old systems and structures and helps to break down the old ways of doing things. This is ONE of the reasons for the Mortgage crises right now – Scorpio rules Mortgages and Taurus rules money – both of these signs are getting melted down by Neptune in Aquarius. Problems and crises will be highlighted when someone is too materialistic or controlling (Scorpio), too egotistical (Leo), too attached to security and creature comforts (Taurus) or too much of an intellectual elitist (Aquarius). The action of Neptune serves to dissolve these fixed and stubborn ways of being and make room for something more far reaching and of service to humanity (Aquarius).
Blessings: Neptune is creating a Grand Trine with planets at mid Libra and Gemini. Anyone who has planets at both of these places would be having great luck and easy blessings in the areas of print and the media, partnerships and contracts, business building, legalities and patents, creating and enforcing new rules, intellectual properties and patents.
It is very tempting to overlook the major themes of the large, slow moving planets and what they mean. Basically Neptune in Aquarius is opening our collective minds (Air signs) and clearing away the superficial systems we’ve created (fixed signs) in order to make room for something that is more spiritually meaningful and satisfying. These are all under his domain. Ultimately Neptune is concerned with the needs of our spirit, our soul. He is known to rile up his players by saying he uses telepathy and distrusts his Scorpio players (USA Today: France coach unfazed). Well, whatever he’s doing, it’s working. He’s got a great coaching record – with or without the help of Astrology.
The New Moon happens 13 times a year – surprise! We normally think that there are only 12 months, but in reality there are 13 LUNAR moths per year. The New Moon takes place when the Sun and the Moon are together in the same sign. This is why there is no light reflected on the Moon. The Sun is actually behind the Moon – and therefore we cannot see it reflecting light on the Moon’s face.
The New Moon is a time of New Beginnings. The light of the Moon is fresh and begins to increase in it’s intensity through the following 2 weeks. As the Moon increases it’s light it is called a waxing moon, but as it decreases – which happens for the 2 weeks following the FULL Moon – it is said to be waning.
As you watch the Moon in the sky, from night to night, you can see it either increase or decrease in light. As it increases, following the full darkness of the New Moon, the light of the Moon can be seen to begin from the right side and creep slowly across the face of the Moon towards the left side. Hebrew is said to be read from right to left to mirror the movement of the Moon’s light. English, on the other hand moves in the opposite direction across a page – left to right.
Psychologically and spiritually the Right side of the body is extroverted, logical and masculine in nature, while the left side is introverted, visual and feminine. When we say that someone is ‘right brained’ we refer to them as creative and visual. This is because the right side of the brain rules the Left side of the body and vice-a-versa. The way in which English is read is a reflection of our English speaking way of approaching life as if the Masculine has the final say in things. The English speaking world favors logical masculine thinking and ways of being. But the Moon reminds us that the great feminine (which the Moon represents) operates in the opposite way.

The Moon represents the unconscious, both individually and collectively. It is obedient and does what we ask it to, which is why we need to start asking it very clear and specific questions – especially at the time of the New Moon.
The Days of the New Moon is the time to concentrate on New Beginnings and fresh starts that we want to accomplish. The Sign that the Moon is in will determine what area of life that new beginnings will be favored. For example, a New Moon in Leo is a great time to plan a celebration or party, but a New Moon in Scorpio would NOT be! In Scorpio the New Moon favors delving into mysteries, getting loans or joining forces with someone else to accomplish a goal.

Also on the 18th, we have a Full Moon at 28′ Sagittarius, kicking off a cycle of large-scale exodus from some kind of group or allegiance over the next few weeks, it will be a very interesting month. The good news this month comes in the form of the protection being offered by the stars to lovers, artists and others who lead with their hearts.
But as for the rest of JUNE; mid-month aspects bring the concepts of lust and love together at last. With the planetary line-up in Gemini of Sun, Mercury and Venus we have a whole she-bang of duality facing us square in our mooney eyed reflections. You see, most of us on planet earth struggle with a polarity around relationships: lust vs love, security vs satisfaction. The whole madonna vs whore deal-i-o that pervades our mass consciousness has driven hordes of the population to take little blue ED pills and pump silocone into parts of our bodies where it never belonged. Wouldn’t it be good to have our cake (I mean sex) and enjoy it too? Today we finally get to examine these underlying assumptions and make a break for it to get away from past (frustrating) conditioning.
The first half of the month is filled with frustrations and power-struggles, even obsession. There’s a heavy duty arm wrestling match going on, especially between the 5th and the 17th, but then things should ease up some. But don’t say I didn’t warn you that some people are just plain voracious now. Most of June’s energy favors breaking things up and clearing them out, which makes this an ideal month to end contracts, get out of unwanted commitments and release yourself from cloying obligations. A few suggestions: trade the SUV in for a hybrid, retrofit your house for solar panals, prepare an area for a garden and generally cut loose any wasteful habits that are bad for you and the environment. This is also a month that is only good for temporary solutions to problems – not permanent ones.
aries – You start the month on some kind of a roll as everyone’s favorite ‘go-to’ guy or gal. This allows you to feel appreciated for your talents and abilities, which is very rewarding. Personal power means connecting to your inner source. The power is within, it isn’t connected to other people. gemini – You are very good at telling the right story to the right people this month and doing so will gain you some strong supporters. Just be sure that you are staying true in your stories, after all, once we start spinning things sideways it gets harder and harder to keep track of all the variations that everyone has heard. In the long run, it’s probably easier and less effort to just craft a clear, strong and compelling message that reflects your deepest truth. This is your challenge now: what exactly IS your deepest truth?
cancer – A complete overhaul of your daily routines is underway. You may quit a job, leave a network or group affiliation or just feel ‘over-it’ regarding a philosophy, form of education or ideology. “To everthing there is a season” and this season is for leaving behind the group-think that doesn’t bring you what you need. Don’t bother analyzing it, don’t bother explaining it. Fighting about it is just an exhaustion you don’t need, so try to aviod that. All you really need to do is be true to you. So if it aint workin’ for ya, then say sionara Sunshine.
leo – You can get things done this month, which makes you feel effective and at the center of the action. Meanwhile there is a whole heap of outward objection to what you are associated with. It is the philosophical conflicts that are at the heart of the matter. To win the battle but to fight an immoral war, well how do we justify this? Each of us must look into our own hearts to find what is morally right for themselves. Now you are being asked to align with your inner truth, anything less and you will only hurt yourself in the long run.
virgo – Aaack! I feel for the Virgin this month. So much to try to handle, so little help or clarity from others. Try and cut through the confusion, try not to get swept up in it. There is a tinge of hysteria taking place now, and you will want to aviod it at all costs. My sensitive mind-powered friend that you are; don’t allow other people’s confusion, anger, agression or verbal acrobatics to throw you off-center. It is only when you are IN your center that you know what is true. Then you can be the laser-beam that cuts to the heart of the matter.
libra – Self-expression is good and healthy, just be cautious that you don’t whip up a frenzy of hot-buttons and emotional reactiveness in your audience for no reason. Many people are hair-trigger now, and this is not a fun environment to live in (except for speed freaks and other adrenaline junkies). The last thing you want to do is ADD to the unpredictible, reactionary and heated environment. SOMEBODY needs to have a cool head, maybe it can begin with you?
scorpio – You are being forced into the forefront – like it or not. All eyes are on you to see how you react, how you handle things and what you do next. It is up to you to set the tone. This brings up mixed feelings in you: while secretly you’ve always wanted to be on center stage, you also dread the heat you take there. This is why you keep your deepest feelings so very private. pisces – A code of conduct is a great thing to have. This month you get to examine yours, including the unconscious parts that you probably inherited from your Dad. Once you drag it out into the light of day you can decide if you really agree with it or not. Then you can rewrite it according to your own real values and beliefs. Anything that doesn’t meet your true inner code isn’t worth doing, but first you’ve got to get clear on what that code IS, now you get to do so.
