Saturn - Uranus opposition exact on Election Day - Nov 4

October 24th, 2008 · 8 Comments

Yes, the Election is coming up. This is true, and most people are worked up about it. The Uranus - Saturn opposition that becomes EXACT on Nov 4th - Election Day, will make sure to stir up plenty of controversy and TROUBLE. The old Guard (Saturn) is pitted against the New Guard and nobody will give an inch. More than any other aspect present at this time this one is a sign of more trouble in already troubled waters. This Election Day has transits that create LONG-TERM turbulence with the US chart - no matter who is elected. It is a dramatic time. I expect the results of this election will be very challenging and cause turmoil (Uranus) for a lot of Americans.

IT’S BASIC ECONOMICS: The current financial crises we are facing is a basic lesson in ’spend less than you make,’ but on a huge governmental scale. This crisis and the fact that world stock markets (Uranus) are continuing to crumble(Saturn) today is all related to this Saturn-Uranus opposition.  Here is a very clear article that lays it out in simple economic terms:

Economic Principles

I never took trigonometry, but Astrology actually uses plenty of this kind of math! So the same laws apply.
The election isn’t going to solve any of our problems, sorry folks. I wish it were that simple. Of course, we still need to go and vote, but the US is in for some real bashing by Saturn and Uranus over the next year, and there is just no way to avoid this.

Saturn and Uranus in Opposition also create unpredictable Human Behavior and Hate crimes.

Last night I saw a play about racism at The Actors Gang. This is Tim Robbin’s theater, and he was there. We spoke briefly about the upcoming election and he was concerned about disenfranchised voters. I mentioned that PBS had a YouTube station set up for people to video tape their voting experiences. He’s on Bill Maher tonight, and will be giving out the link, but here it is for you now

Record your Vote

Seeing that play sure made me feel white, while at the same time reminding me that I am Jewish. I was sitting next to one of my closest friends who is Palestinian. Under different circumstances we should hate each other, but neither of us sees ourselves purely through race identity. The GIFT of Saturn combined with Uranus is the ability for us to ‘get past’ our tribal/survival thinking. Indeed thinking from a perspective of vision instead of fear and us against them survival is the ONLY remedy for Saturn opposed to Uranus woes. It’s time to remember that we’re all in this together.

Anyway, feelings about color is a major issue and concern in this presidential ‘race’. Maybe this gives is all a chance to look inwards and see where we have a victim/victimizer inner drama taking place (Saturn opposed to Uranus). One of the most powerful moments in the play was when an actress pointed out that seeing what the effects of man’s inhumanity to man really ARE, she realized that she could do this. We all could. This issue is on the surface for us to collectively address, heal and move to a new level. My intention is for this to be easy and for us to collectively move to a higher state of awareness. But I still think it’s a good idea to be prepared (but armed with courage and loving action).

Of course, the only answer to racial tension is to create a community and identity that transcends the borders of skin color - a wholeness. The only way to really do this is for us to see ourselves as all part of the whole - all connected to the one planet we share our earth walk with. Really, if we think about it, we can’t ever get away from our connection to oneness. Simply by virtue of our feet being connected to the ground through gravity, that ground connects us to every other living thing on the planet. In the truest, most real sense of it: we are all ONE.  One Planet.

Saturn Opposed to Uranus wakes us up to the possibility that it could take a crisis that threatens the planet itself, Is this what it takes for us to pull together and see this?
I hope not, but looking at the Astrology for next year, I fear yes.
I am merely the thunder (Saturn) that warns of the approaching lightning (Uranus).

The republicans are trying to steal the 2008 election just like they stole 2000(florida) and 2004 (ohio). I have so much anxiety from this election. I fear even obama can’t change what needs changing

don’t worry christy. uranus always wins. saturn’s fear cannot triumph over needed change, for better or for worse. have you studied mythology? remember what uranus did to his dad saturn?

Astrologically, what do election days 2004, 2006 and 2008 have in common? A retrograde Uranus in Pisces. What do 2004 and 2008 have in common? A Saturn more powerful than Uranus. Conservative Saturn was weak in 2006 and the Democrats, headed by Nancy Pelosi first woman House Speaker-representing San Fransisco where the 60s counter culture movement began-captured both houses of Congress. Yet the Moon that day (Cancer-in-Chief George Bush) in Gemini (trine 10th House=Chief Executive) squared retro-Uranus thus blocking, impeding, obstructing and stopping the 110th (Uranian) Congress from implimenting its radical agenda and percipitiously withdrawing our troops from Iraq.

It appears that by the closing of the polls tomorrow retro-Uranus’s frustrations and headaches will continue: a powerful Saturn in Virgo (McCain’s Sun sign) opposes Uranus (McCain’s natal Saturn conjuncts Uranus) from the 10th House (when polls open) and is squared by Venus (McCain’s rising planet). What this suggests to me is that Bush’s brake on Congress’s radical tendancies will continue under President McCain.

The trouble with the post-election period is the the Obamarites adjusting civily to defeat. The unrealistic expectations raised by Obama (Uranus in utopian Pisces) could turn into rage and violence. If this happens it would be unfortunate, but the blame will fall on Obama’s head and his messianic rhetoric.

Your quote: “Seeing that play sure made me feel white…Jewish..” implied that that is a negative thing.

Why is that people of color can revel in their culture, yet, European Americans are subtly compelled to feel guilt, and worse?

All Middle-Eastern and European Americans should embrace their heritage, culture and positive contribution to this world.

    Cherise-
It’s interesting that you got that from my comment. I don’t feel guilty. It’s more a matter of my becoming aware of how unaware I actually am of race. It’s not something I think about regularly. This is probably not true for people of color.

My take on race is totally different than anyone else. Since I remember my past lives from other racial experiences, and can often see them on others, the whole issue looks kind of ludicrous to me.

Since a soul needs to experience all sides of an issue in order to learn it’s lessons, I often see the dogmatic, separatists person who was the exact thing they condemn in a previous life. In other words, the racist is often the person who suffered the same injustice in a previous life, and even if not, they WILL in a future one. The scales of karmic balance require variety.

Anyway, I see racial identity as a group of common soul experiences and gifts. Each race has a consciousness of wisdom, a pool to draw from if you will. Just as we need all the elements to survive on earth, we also need all the pools of wisdom for wholeness. All the races have something equally important to contribute. One day, we may live to see a time when we appreciate these pieces of wisdom, and our common unity at the same time.

But this will have to be a time when we are able to see beyond just the surface of things. Race awareness lives on the surface. Conscious connection to the wisdom of a racial culture or a people lives somewhere deeper.

In other words, the only way any of us can access the racial wisdom of our ancestry is by getting past just the outer surface layer of it.
