Buddhism, Astrology and Good Karma…

One of my Facebook friends asked me this question today, and I thought it would make a good Blog post for anyone interested in such things. This post is longer than on Facebook, I’ve gone into more detail here.

QUESTION: what are the astrological happenings today? I’ve heard that today is a very special day for buddhists and theres alot of good karma floating around. same source told me acts of kindness today will be extremely beneficial, more effective than at other times. want to pick your brain about the western astrology perspectiv…e. I’m wondering what the christians and jews and hindus and muslims and scientists are saying too. I guess I’ll have to ask them. xxx

ANSWER: Well first I have to set you straight on a few things you are assuming that aren’t correct. I practice Magi Astrology – after a lifetime of study this is the most accurate system i have found – bar none. This is more Eastern AND Western combined. We look at more than any other system. The Magi were the Wise men in the Bible who identified the Birth of Christ. (By a Jupiter – Saturn Eclipse).

I also have to take exception with any system that teaches you to get ‘brownie points’ by taking ‘good’ actions. In actuality this is NOT the Buddhist point of view. The Buddhists are far more likely to suggest that you misunderstand your Dharma if you seek to gain advantage by doing ‘good’. In the purest sense, Buddhism does not actually believe in good and bad. And your Dharma is not about doing something in order to achieve a reward – it asks you to DO because it is true to your soul, your path and who you are.

My own many past life (and current life) associations with the mysteries of Tibetan Buddhism make me want to show you a truer perspective on what Buddhism is really about. One such mystery that many don’t know about is the time that Jesus spent in Tibet. Also, deeply hidden in the life of Christ AND Buddhism is the lost respect of the Divine Feminine – now re-emerging on the planet after a long persecution.

Just some background on where I am coming from; I currently live in the Blue Ridge Mountains – perhaps the oldest Mountain range on the planet, and probably once attached to the Himalayas of Tibet. On this farm we raise Tibetan Mastiffs – one of the oldest breeds known to man. about 50% of all current dog breeds came from this breed of dog. They are considered sacred to the Tibetans, who see them as re-incarnated enlightened Tibetan Monks. They were around at the time of Christ, and the whole lineage was in fact blessed by Christ. I live with 8 of them.

But, from a purely Astrological point of view – we have left the good days of the month behind us and even though the 19th and 20th have a couple of good-feeling things going on, it is likely to have too much delusion associated with it.

In my experience it is not a good idea to shop around for spirituality or some words that seem like a good idea. Finding and following a true path requires a deeper level of authenticity than that. You must know yourself in order to recognize the information that is accurate. You will only confuse yourself and ultimately cause yourself harm if you go seeking a million different spiritual perspectives (this includes the Church of Science too)

It was written above the doorway of the Oracle at Delphi “Above all else, know thyself.” This is one of the things that Astrology is MOST useful for :-)

Very interesting I have to say. But confusing to say the least…In order to know who you are. You need to know what you believe. Christians and Budhists are almost polar opposites… Buddhists believe all beings are enlightened. Christians believe followers of Christ are enlightened by the teachings of Christ namely Love not dogma. As for dogs how is it enlightenment to become a dog when you were a monk in a past life. Sounds backwards to me. Even though some people act worse then dogs. Explain to us how a dog is enlightened and what does this have to do with Tibetan Monk or Christ teachings. I think the Dali lama seems too nice. Their may be something sinister behind those orange robes and smiles. After all he does tour the world like a rock star.. Magi’s have wisdom. Make me wiser by posting a blog about this. Am I missing something? As for the divine feminine I’m wondering does God have a female form like Jesus did?
Enlighten me Magi…. Point me in the right direction. Remember Christ said “Do not toss your bread to the dogs.” Here sparky now go get the stick….

Well Jack, I guess you aren’t aware that Jesus spent his ‘lost’ years in Tibet. That was where he learned to perform a lot of the miracles described in the Bible, the kinds of things that many Tibetan Monks can do today. Plus, being an enlightened being and a dog aren’t in conflict according to the Monks. Monks don’t see dog, or human, or sparrow, or salamander for that matter as above OR below each other on the psychic scale. All just IS according to the Tibetan Buddhists.

I’m sorry you don’t like the Dalia Llama, I’ve met him, he’s pretty darned cool actually ;-)
Did you know those orange robes are filled with pockets so that he can carry around candy to amuse the children?
One thing about those Tibetan Monks is that they are full of joy and playfulness. And it’s sincere. They come from a place that has nothing according to our Western standard, and yet, I have rarely met a westerner who has as much joy as most of the Tibetans I’ve met.

As for the Divine Feminine, there is plenty of compelling evidence that Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene – which makes her just about the most maligned and misrepresented woman in all of human history. In actuality, she was his priestess. Together they created the united, balanced male-female energy of enlightenment – which is the core of what the Tibetan’s teach. (I know those guys are supposed to be celibate, but that’s also the part of the world where Tantra comes from). Tantra, by the way is all about the sacred union between male and female to reach enlightenment – a place that can only be arrived at with the union of these two primal forces.

In the meantime, we’ve had the Crusades and the systematic murdering of 60 MILLION Christians by the Catholic church as well as the ripping apart and re-editing of the Bible so many times that in order to get at any semblance of what it’s really trying to say you’d have to get a degree in Aramaic and then get your hands on the original texts – which is impossible because the Catholic church has it locked up in a vault and will only allow those who ALREADY agree with THEIR interpretation of the words to even take peek at it.

BTW – Aramaic was a language that had many layers. The words had many different meanings, so the listener would hear the message from whatever level that they were able. An equivalent in English might be something like: Hear/here their/they’re/there on the write/right/rite/wright (as in a smith) peace/piece.

How many meanings can you make from that?
No wonder the Bible is so confusing.

The problem of course, is that we have a Western perspective, and the Western perspective is sadly very limited at seeing itself.

Well yo sound knowledgeable. What’s with the tantra. Does that mean a sex as a spiritual union. And why give the catholic’s so much power. They seem to be more on the devils side than anything. Why does the Dalai Lama charge money for his spiritual knowledge. Seems like a cultish scam to me especially if he’s nice. Sotime to nice is strange. Like those Life “Spring People.” I ‘m not going to touch scientology with a ten foot pole. they’ll try and destroy you life. By the way where does it say in the bible that Mary Magadelene was his Priestess. Isn’t in the movie the Da vinci Code…. Maybe the Bible confusing because people that think they are spiritual aren’t. maybe it’s like in a code or something. I think if you try to decipher based on Aramic that’s crazy afterall it’s been translated so that all people can read it… You still haven’t explained why being a reincarnated dog is enlightment. I want to undertsand your wisdom. You seem like you have shamanistic tendencies. Y’know iam pretty intuitive. I get the feeling your being influenced by some one who loves dogs. Give refrence to God or Godess or both… But Dogs are still just dogs at least to most people. Their are alot of people that are into giving reverence to animals. Like save the whales. How about save the people. I stand on the side of Steven Colbert. i think he closer to enlightening people than any guru on the planet. But I’m open minded… Teach me more… This seems interesting. I like the eastern perpsective, I’m just don’t have a fetish for the tibetans. I don’t give brownie points to gurus. I think alot of them are a sham. But I’d like to her what a Magi has to say. Enlighten me. So me your Jedi power…

I forgetto ask. Why people think those Tibetan Mastiffs are sacred. Is it like the Sacred cow thing. India likes to worship the. I like the way Islands restraunt makes them taste. And in the bible they made a gold cow and worshipped it. It was called an Idol. Do believe in Idol worship. Or totem worship like the Native Americans, or Egyptians?

  5. Jack W. Clooney Says:

Oh one last thing are you a buddhist or what do you believe in. Do you believe in worship many gods. Or just one. I don’t know maybe two. which god do you prefer?

  6. auracle Says:

I think you’d have to ask the Tibetans what their reason is, I can’t speak for them. But no, I don’t believe in idol worship and the Native American’s do not worship Totems, they see them as sacred paths to a deeper connection to the divine. The Animal and Plant Totems are energies to be worked with and each has a specific power or personality. It could be seen as similar to working with Angels I suppose. The Native Americans worship God, only they called God the Great Spirit. Jesus wasn’t part of their experience – unless you get into what the Mormons had to say. The Mormons believed that Jesus did come to the Americas and work with the Native Americans, only they never used the name Jesus to describe him. These are the teachings of Joseph Smith who founded the Mormon church after much soul-searching and frustration at the hypocrisies of the churches and religions around him – much like the skepticism you have expressed yourself. I agree, many churches are misleading. But there are also sincere people in many churches as well. We can’t generalize.

I believe in God. I believe in balance and equality. The feminine aspect of God has been disowned. It is time for it to be restored. I believe in both.

  8. auracle Says:

You don’t have to see animals as sacred. It is entirely up to you. Many people – especially Dog people – are fiercely loyal to their animals.
But dog is not my animal. I am merely stepping in temporarily and learning some meaningful lessons about Dog. Please read my other blog http://www.AskAura.com to understand Dog medicine better.

Yes, cults exist. Anyone who wants to control your thinking, or wants all your money, or uses sex as manipulation, or claims to teach the Bible, but diverts your attention towards some other person and away from the actual teachings of Jesus – all of these are signals that you are dealing with a cult. Dave Lakhani is a good one to read up on if you want to understand cults and how to recognize (and steer far clear) of them. If you see any of these signs I’ve mentioned – RUN.

  9. Jack W. Clooney Says:

Enough with the dog-ma. It sounds to strange. I like pets like cats better anyways. I’ve had three of them. You seem knowledgeable about alot of things. The mormons sound like a cult. Tell me more about the divine feminine. Or the teachings of Jesus.

Sounds like a good subject for another blog post. If you subscribe to this blog and my other one, I will post something on one of them about this in the next week.
