In general, what the Lunar Eclipse does: Reveal secret or hidden information, upset the status quo, shed light on areas where the physical is dominating the emotional/mental/spiritual levels of existence. Reveal physical problems and addictions.
What it means in Aquarius: Technology can be effected. The masses of humanity and large crowds of people can be unpredictable. Politics and politicians are thrown out of their routines, skeletons come out of the closet, groups of people re-establish social order (revolution), friendships are tested or go through sudden changes. Electrical & technical problems emerge and show themselves. Other areas that might be effected: shipping, trucking and mass transit, utility providers (like Edison, or phone co’s), large housing developments, computers and companies in the technology fields.
THE EFFECTS: are MOST powerful on the 2 days before the day of and 2 days after the Eclipse itself (Aug 14-18). The effects are still VERY powerful for the 2 weeks before and after the actual Eclipse (Aug 1-30), and the effects still MAY BE FELT up to 3 months before and after the Eclipse (May 16 - Nov 16).
Here’s my own Eclipse story:
This Eclipse took place exactly on my Nadir (the roots of the chart) and is opposed to my Mid-heaven (career and worldly reputation). The Nadir is literally ‘where you live’ on an emotional - and sometimes physical level. So, it should come as no surprise to learn that I am moving, and have been gearing up to do so over the past month. This is textbook.
In the meantime I am house-sitting for a close friend who has gone to Hawaii on vacation with her Husband and 2 kids. Last night, in the middle of the night the house alarm went off - and believe me it was LOUD. It did so right in the middle of an electrical storm with flashes of lightning going crazy everywhere. This added a nice dramatic and terrifying backdrop to the screeching alarm sounds. I finally got it disarmed, whew!
But then I found the back door open. This was more than a little scary. AND, since I didn’t get to the phone in time (I was too busy trying to deal with the back door) the Sheriff had been dispatched. Great, that’s all I need, men with .34’s coming up and quizzing me on my identity while I run around in a filmy nighty. The brief hope that maybe one of them is cute flashes through my mind as I call my friend in Hawaii. It was only late evening there, so at least I didn’t wake them up. But they already knew about it since the brother had been called by the Sheriff’s dept. I wondered momentarily if I had time to make my hair sexy before the guys with guns showed up?
After a little finesse and more than a few phone calls, the sheriff was called off - whew! I can just picture myself trying to explain why I don’t have the right name, the right ID, etc. etc. Visions of “Law and Order” and spending the night in lockup flashed briefly through my mind. OK, disaster averted. But still, my heart was pounding harder than the drums at a Kyoto festival.
Turns out that the back door is very testy, and I didn’t lock it well enough so the wind blew it open. Well, now I know (the hard way).
So, now I am tired and shaking off a “False alarm hangover” induced by the Lunar Eclipse. In defense of my peace and well-being I am nursing a cup of Jasmine Green Tea. I don’t know if it’s working, but it sounds good.

The Solar Eclipse is HERE
It is exact August 1st, but it’s range of power & influence started two weeks ago (around July 15) and lasts for another two weeks (about August 15). THEN we have the Lunar Eclipse on the 16h (who’s influence starts today and lasts until about the end of August).
This is what I mean by Eclipse season - and we are right in the middle of it.
Is it effecting you? The only real way to get a good look at it is to have a private reading.
Traditionally the Solar Eclipse (like the one we are having AUGUST 1 is a sign of loss of honor, position, title or other outward state of the status quo. This Solar Eclipse is in Leo - at the extremely testy 8/9th degree. It aspects the 8th degree of Aries and Libra - both of which have been implicated in assassinations - both successful and unsuccessful ones. This, I believe is why so many Astrologers (and even Hilary Clinton) are throwing the word assassination around in connection with Obama. If anyone wants to pull a stunt like that, then the entire month of August would be prime time for it to happen.
And yes, it could happen. The most dangerous dates for assassination attempst on Obama are August 6/7, August 14-17 and August 28-30, so mark those words. But if August stays clear, there are other dangerous dates in September that I will post in next month’s Horoscope.
Then there’s the Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius on the 16th at 24′ Aquarius (the sign that rules politics). LUNAR ECLIPSE themes relate more to secrets and hidden information coming to the surface, so get ready to release your skeletons from the closet once and for all. The good news about this is that we can finally unburden ourselves from something, but be prepared because Eclipse Events usually come as a surprise.
Taken together, the Leo-Aquarius Eclipse theme highlights drama around ego, identity, social scenes, politics the masses and strong leadership figures. The topsy-turvey Eclipse roller coaster will upset the status quo, bringing some people down and tossing other’s a well-deserved (but unexpected) bone.
Aries: You are tangled up in a heap of unpredictability all month long. Add to this a healthy dose of fantasy and you’ve got a good recipe for a sudden and unplanned fling with a friend which will do nothing but create waves of drama through your whole social circle. Unless, of course you have learned the lessons of discretion. But it is the rare Aries indeed who understands this fine art. So don’t start something you can’t handle.
Taurus: The Eclipse’s are shaking you at your core and suggest huge and sweeping changes in your life. Sometimes it is good to completely clean house (or move house, or re-invent yourself). Now is the time for you to make a major overhaul. It might be hard for you to let go of the old stuff, but try to remember that the Universe always wants you to grow and always offers you MORE of who and what you truly are. New beats old in spades this month.
Gemini: Rules vs. fantasy. Friendship vs. family and all of it challenges your inner knowing to grow and expand beyond the easy ‘pat’ answers that have satisfied your relentless curiosity up until now. Your greatest asset is that intrepid mind that needs to know more, because that will send you on a journey to the depths of soul where you can finally marry all these splintered parts of yourself into one whole (and satisfied) being of true power. It’s the splintering that weakens you. You answers are inside, the outside authorities will only continue to weaken and splinter you further.
Cancer: It is your day. Every time there is a Solar Eclipse, you get to step onto the throne and take the power away from the King - what will you do with it? And will you be prepared when the Lunar Eclipse sends you an equal challenge? A challenge of obsession? This time you might think you have the answers, you might even get filled with self-justified rightiousness, but think again. Rightousness is the playground of the Ego - and this Eclipse season demands us all to throw ego to the wind.
Leo: Ahhh, you own this Eclipse season, or should I say it owns you? Either way, you must learn to detach, detach, detach. This is especially true for anything from which you have been getting a piece of your identity, recognition or status. (More true for those born between July 29-Aug 4th). For those born between the 12th-19th on the other hand, expect to deal with secrets being revealed and handled carefully. These are the kinds of challenges that really bring out the best and worst in people, so now is really the time to get busy focusing on letting go of control and doing your inner work - it’s the only thing that will help.
Virgo: So much to do, so little time, and so little help, this is your battle cry all month. It’s enough to make you want to protest, strike, send in your pink slip and take a long vacation where they wait on you hand and foot. I’m not against this as part of a plan, I just notice that when you get back, the old problems will still be there. In other words, deal with these unpleasant situations AND take a vacation afterwards. Then you’ll feel as though you’ve earned your peace. Read Aquarius.
Libra: You won’t admit it, but you’re becoming a little bit fanatical this month, or at the very least, you’re being a driven perfectionist. Well, don’t worry too much about that, since all the drama and chaos that’s rocking your love-life and social scene wind up making the desire for perfection and control downright laughable. Yes, you are in for an eventful August, and no, it’s nothing you will be able to control. So learn to expect to deal with the unexpected.
Scorpio: Seeking answers and solutions outside yourself this month will leave you feeling like little more than a pile of peices of yourself. Not fun. What you need now is to go into the center of the wheel and find the true cause of these opposing forces - they all exist inside of you. No, there is no outside drama. It may look that way, it may FEEL that way as pieces of your identity fall away and revelations about your true nature emerge -but this is a deeply spiritual journey of self-re-invention (I just made that word up, but I like it - I invite you to do the same with yourself on the soulular level).
Sagittarius: The Eclipses can really help you this week. But still, you’re not getting off easy. Ultimately you’ve got to figure out where the real work needs to be done - and just get busy doing it. Outside changes and drama can drive your efforts forward if you are smart about it. In other words: a change in other people’s philosophies or the status of the group you belong to can lead you to reveal secrets and information of a profound nature - this helps you take on your divine role as a teacher - but be prepared for the hard work of it.
Capricorn: You are getting the help you need to get things rolling, but the road is clearly not a smooth one. Money, loans, banking, mortgages and finances are suddenly thrown up in the air like a deck of cards in the wind. Consider this: how can chaos benefit you? If you can’t answer that then study some great (and innovative) business minds like Warren Buffet or Rockefeller.
Aquarius: Read Leo, you are both in the same boat. Relationships are getting rocked harder than the earthquake that recently hit the West coast. Your whole identity is under scrutiny and you are going through major change - the kind of change that leads you to a whole new identity. This can be easy or hard, it’s up to you. The more you fight it, the harder it will be. But if you push and help, like a snake shedding it’s skin, the sooner you will see all those bright shiny new colors from the freshly revealed new you.
Pisces: The birth of a new form of service is just waiting to leap forward into your life in much the same way that Athena the goddess of wisdom lept full grown from her father Zeus’s head. (No wonder he had a headache). You too can releave your discomfort by releasing your newest genius onto the world and then letting it have a life of it’s own. After all, wisdom doesn’t need to be controlled does it?
Talking about Saturn we need to remember that it is the ASPECTS that have the power, not simply the presence of a planet in one sign or another.
WHAT’S A TRANSIT? I’m glad you asked. A transit is when a planet moving through the sky makes an aspect or a pattern with the planets in your own Natal Chart.
WHAT’S AN ASPECT? A mathematical degree used by Astrologers to see what planet in your Natal Chart is being ‘touched’ and how it’s being touched, ie: caressed or throttled? and for how long this ‘touching’ will continue to go on.
WHAT ARE PATTERNS? These are shapes made by a few planets together, like squares and triangles and long stretchy triangles. Remember art class? See, that stuff was useful after all.
WHAT’S A NATAL CHART? It is the snapshot of the heavens at the moment when YOU were born. It is a lot like a snowflake or a fingerprint. It is unique. Most Natal Charts only refer to a flat view of the heavens. But there are at least 3 more dimensions to see than this. FOR EXAMPLE: If Saturn made a conjunction to your URANUS IN VIRGO - and you also had a GRAND TRINE in your own Natal Chart with say URANUS - SUN - JUPITER all in EARTH signs, then the hard work that Saturn triggers might put you in charge of your own business, or get you organized to open your own massage school. This is exactly what a client who has a Grand Trine being triggered by Transiting Saturn, is doing.

This Full Moon is about activation of our inner senses, our psychic perceptions and our deepest truth. This is not a light fluffy Moon by any stretch of the imagination (even if it IS in Sagittarius). You see, it’s complicated, just like the dreams, visions and inner turmoil that you are having. There is deep stuff afoot, so watch out for those crazy neon angler fish from the deep!
Strange and churning images explode onto the consciousness as something deep within the soul is being awakened by this Sagittarius Full Moon. The Galactic Center being activated, is literally activating the deeper meaning and purpose that exists behind the mundane level of our lives. In other words: the stable but unsatisfying job just won’t cut it any longer - the soul demands something more. The same is true for the ’secure’ or convenient relationship. Nope. Not enough. Time to pay attention to the soul and what it needs. The duality of Gemini-Sagittarius presents us with a clear cut polarity, a sense of love vs. lust, money vs. happiness, and on and on. Each of us may have a different X vs. Y scenario, but that doesn’t make it any less profound and meaningful for each and every one of us. A Full Moon by it’s very nature is always about duality - because it is always an opposition of the Sun and the Moon.
Like the Angel Gabriel sounding his trumpet, we are awakened to a deeper meaning, deeper purpose and greater calling with our outward lives by this Full Moon in Sagittarius. Now, more than ever we must ask our soul what it needs from us. We must make sense of our greater pattern, our role withing the force of life. Today, we are literally being asked to rise up and become who we truly are. We are being asked to open to and embrace our inner knowing, being and cosmic purpose.
The only trouble arises if we are not sure what that purpose is exactly. The intensity of feeling and desire that is ignited is confusing and frustrating. What do we do with it? Look within, find the truth behind the truth, learn to hear what the subconscious mind has to say to you.
Ok, that’s easier said than done. I for one have spent many lifetimes on perfecting this art. But try some meditation at least, to get a start on it. After that, find a person who is a clear mirror to ask for reflection time. They must be clear, so that they can show you what’s actually there. This will help you sort out what’s going on.
Just know that there is an ancient polarity that is being activated at this time on our planet Earth. We are being called to our role in the greater cosmic spiritual battle that we are being prepared for - know it or not. The time is getting nearer. We are all being called to connect with our soul-clan, our soul-partners, our soul-purpose and our deepest sense of direction. These are the confusing and profound images that are stirring from deep within at this time.
This cycle will continue to last throughout the summer - so pay very close attention to the people you meet and the places you go, there’s a piece of your soul in them. I always remind people, that in order to find their soul mate, you must first find (and listen to) your soul! Listen up! The activation of this Full Moon in Gemini conjunct the Galactic Center and opposing the Sun is causing the SOUL TO SPEAK.
Most Astrology sites will tell you all about what the planet in the sign is supposed to mean, ie: Neptune in Aquarius should be good for humanitarian causes, and technology etc. And this is useful for looking at some of the trends and what they mean. Yes, this is a good time for the innovation of services for the masses of humanity, for computers and other techie gadgets, but this is far from the whole picture. The real JUICE from Astrology for you, dear reader, comes from understanding the aspectsNeptune is making as he travels through Aquarius.
Aspects are good or bad depending on their geometry - the angles they make and the overall patterns that they are part of.
A square is hard, a trine is usually a blessing. But the PATTERN is more important than just these aspects alone.
When Neptune is part of a Grand Cross (currently that would be in Fixed signs: Taurus, Scorpio, Aquarius & Leo) it is very different than if he was part of a Grand Trine (currently that would be in Air signs: Gemini, Libra & Aquarius).
Neptune as part of hard aspects in the fixed signs will be about money, identity, social scene and debt. It will also be about our connection to fixed and inflexible points of view. Neptune will help to melt those stubborn streaks. It may be hard to take though, since squares and oppositions bring crisis to the surface. Neptune in Square or opposition will also help bring something to a screeching halt. Endings may appear sudden, but usually they’ve been brewing for a long time.
Neptune in Trine helps to grow something, make it last, give it some spiritual ‘glue’ and help it to stick. Currently in air signs, this means that ideas, words and rules are being nourished by Neptune.
One of the reasons that it is so hard for people to get a handle on what a Neptune transit will do, is that Neptune is in charge of so very many parts of our lives. This means that there are really a TON of possibilities in how he can manifest. Forgetting or losing our memory of something and having it Zero-ed out is just one of a great many possibilities. Others include: selling, growing things, dealing with minerals or oil… But there are too many to list here.
There are other patterns that he can be part of as well, and each one has a major meaning: The kite, the unequal triangle, the Yod, the mini Trine, the mystic rectangle the dreaded T-Square and on and on. So the story of the huge and slow transits of Neptune in Aquarius will be told by the PATTERN he’s making - with the other planets in the sky, and with the planets in your own personal Chart.
EXAMPLES: Problems: Neptune in Aquarius is creating a Grand Cross for fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) which creates stress and tension around old systems and structures and helps to break down the old ways of doing things. This is ONE of the reasons for the Mortgage crises right now - Scorpio rules Mortgages and Taurus rules money - both of these signs are getting melted down by Neptune in Aquarius. Problems and crises will be highlighted when someone is too materialistic or controlling (Scorpio), too egotistical (Leo), too attached to security and creature comforts (Taurus) or too much of an intellectual elitist (Aquarius). The action of Neptune serves to dissolve these fixed and stubborn ways of being and make room for something more far reaching and of service to humanity (Aquarius).
Blessings: Neptune is creating a Grand Trine with planets at mid Libra and Gemini. Anyone who has planets at both of these places would be having great luck and easy blessings in the areas of print and the media, partnerships and contracts, business building, legalities and patents, creating and enforcing new rules, intellectual properties and patents.
It is very tempting to overlook the major themes of the large, slow moving planets and what they mean. Basically Neptune in Aquarius is opening our collective minds (Air signs) and clearing away the superficial systems we’ve created (fixed signs) in order to make room for something that is more spiritually meaningful and satisfying. This includes spiritual journeys, soul-mates and all the things that give our life meaning. Deep memories from the past may also emerge - including those that come from past lives. These are all under his domain. Ultimately Neptune is concerned with the needs of our spirit, our soul. Neptune in Aquarius calls our attention to the collective soul-needs of humanity and how to meet them.
This means that for the next few weeks we will be playing ‘goundhogs day’ with the events that took place from about May 12-26. Expect to see and hear from those people again, expect to have the same information come across your desk (or inbox), expect to have those contracts you thought would be finished come back to you revised and changed. Expect the neighbor kids to play a lot of basketball in front of your house while shouting wildly, expect to get strange news from your siblings or co-workers. It’s all part of God’s punchline. These are all things governed by Gemini.
I could regale you with stories of my travels to the East Coast on Labor day weekend (when Merc was slowing down). I could tell you all about the flight delay, getting in too late to get a rental car, then the booked up hotels, forcing me into the worst over-priced room I’ve ever stayed at; with no hot water for a shower in the morning. I could tell you about how the place I reserved my car CLOSED at 12 noon, so when I got there at 1 pm I had to turn around and go back to the airport - an hour away - to get a car (at 3 times the price). I could go on and on. But then I would be acting like Gemini!
The good news: I bought my tix way in advance and it all worked out. The better news; having a great time with friends I haven’t seen for ages. Mercury RETROGRADE brings people back to our life - be prepared!
On June 3rd the NEW MOON triggers all this RETRO activity. Get ready because things should get very interesting for the next few weeks. It’s all about negotiation (planets are in Gemini!) It’s all about NEW BEGINNINGS after the 3rd - but those new beginning negotiations could be bumpy because there will be review and re-review for the next few weeks (remember Mercury Retrograde? )
That same week, May 25th Chiron turns Retrogade, then on the 26th Neptune Turns Retrograde TOGETHER AT ALMOST THE SAME DEGREE in Aquarius (the sign of the masses and politics).
Then in August - just before the Democratic Convention - we have a pair of Eclpses; one Solar Eclipse and One Lunar Eclipse. Each of these things means something. But TOGETHER they paint a picture.
People keep saying that the Democratic race has race as it’s core issue. But I disagree. The conflict is NOT about Black V White, it is about Blue V White (collar that is). In other words Obama is the White candidate - he represents the white collar segment of the population. Clinton is Blue - she represents the Blue collar worker. McCain is Red - he represents the status quo and conservatism. OH, look America is red, white and blue after all. Just not all at the same time.
I personally think that if we must spend the next 4 or 8 years discussing race and reverend Wright I will have to shoot myself. If all we can talk about is race, this means we are all racist! The opposite of that conversation is not more of the same, it is something completely different and new. I want us all to get PAST the race consciousness. I may be dreaming, I know that. But still, I am tired of this.
THE BOTTOM LINE: I look at the three remaining candidates as representing different planets. This has NOTHING to do with their Horoscopes or Sun Signs. When someone becomes a public figure they represent one of the Archetypes of the human mind (these archetypes are also the planets of the solar system). These are the ones that the 3 remaining candidates represent.
McCain: The Red (collar) candidate is SATURN- he’s all about the rules, the status quo and the idea of being ‘conservative’. It remains to be seen weather he can beat the red (ink) that the current admin is leaving behind. Pro war (red) McCain wants to follow through on the Republican agenda. He’s the Daddy figure, rule maker, authority figure, expected style of candidate that Saturn loves. He is the classic, the standard and the traditional. Fighting is always a staple of the ‘red collar’ idealogy.
Obama: The White (collar) candidate is JUPITER - he’s all about philosophy, big expansive speeches and the notion of sweeping change. Can he deliver what he promises? Who knows. Jupiter sometimes makes empty promises, just how far can good intentions get us? Obama’s an unproven quantity. His popularity among college students is again a very Jupiter theme. He is about advantage, opportunity and success.
Clinton: The Blue (collar) candidate is URANUS - she is an innovation, she speaks about the needs of the masses and those who work for a living. Her core message is about unions and programs that serve large numbers of people, like health care - all of which are subjects of Uranus. Complicated, contradictory, unpredictable and revolutionary are all Uranus qualities, so we never know what to expect with her.
The August Eclipse’s WILL UPSET THE APPLECART. Get ready for a heated season because the fight is ON. Eclipse’s will reveal secrets in AUGUST and remove powerful figureheads from the picture. All of this makes for some great NEWS HEADLINES.
RIGHT NOW and into mid JUNE: Lies and manipulations of words are EVERYWHERE. News is distorted and we would be smart NOT TO BELIEVE WHAT WE’RE BEING TOLD. The picture is not clear until September.
The wild card is always the people themselves. Candidates can slit their own throats (the way that Guiluini did), the public is often manipulated by the media. The Saturn Station Direct happened today at 2′ degrees Virgo.
This will have the strongest effect on Capricorns (who are ruled by Saturn) Aquarius’s (also ruled by Saturn in Ancient Astrology) and Virgo’s - since Saturn is actually IN Virgo.
Saturn in Virgo - What does it mean?
Saturn represents hardship and difficulty. Many times Astrologers try to candy coat him and say he has something to do with responsibilities that we must take on, either by choice or necessity. I disagree. I say it is rarely by choice and almost always filled with hardship and challenge. Saturn rules the collective shadow we face at any given time, or if you prefer he represents the dark shadows of the world. Remember, all bullies - Saturn included - work very hard to HIDE their smallness and meanness. If we hope to defeat him, we must look into the darkness and try to heal it. This isn’t for the fearful or the faint of heart.

That doesn’t mean we can’t do something good with Saturn’s energy. It’s just always hard. The best we can make of it is to get really organized and disciplined in the area he is focusing on. Right now that means the area of Virgo. Virgo rules health, habits, routines, employees and pets. Take extra care of your wee little critters, their health is precarious now. The same is true for us, we need to eat extra well. I’ve been saying for years that it’s getting harder and harder to find real food in the stores. We need to pay attention.
It also rules service industries, especially those where someone wears a uniform, as well as details, paperwork, filing systems and bureaucracy.
I was in the store the other day and overheard a man talking about going to court for a traffic ticket. It was an electronic ticket he’d gotten from a camera at a stop sign. He lost his case because he hadn’t stopped for the full 3 seconds before moving forward. He said that the court was filled with people in the exact same situation. They all lost. Saturn loves to go to court, and these kinds of no-win details are the sorts of hair splitting (and hair pulling) scenario’s Saturn will just love to heap on the world for the next 2-3 years. Oh yes, the hall monitors of the world are about to get their revenge. Consider yourself warned!
In the near future, we have until New Years Eve 2008 while he will be in Direct motion again. For the past 6 months he’s been Retrograde - which means he’s been underground and in hiding (just like the chicken he is). Now he leaves the shadow and moves forward and won’t start to gain new ground until Mid-August. Basically what that means is that he’s been laying little booby traps all over the place, mostly physical ones (Virgo is a physical sign) and we will all start to get bitten by them over the course of the next few months - up until mid August. Watch those electronic traffic cash machines - they’re getting ready to take a collective bite out of our wallets.
Booby traps are everywhere - just like this crazy sounding traffic rule. So be extra, extra, extra careful. When Saturn is in Virgo the bean counters of the world rule us all - they know it - and they laugh at us for not being able to do anything about it. It is the very definition of petty.
Saturn in Virgo can be really mean. So if you want to take revenge on someone, you can be equally mean and trap them in some meaningless detail. Tell them that they have 2 oz. too much body fat, treat her as if having a pimple is a felony worthy of prison time, hide his car keys or re-arrange your co-workers desk while they are in the other room. This should succeed in making steam come out of at least one ear. To complete the picture shred some important identity documents or even better, sell them to some guy in Russia named Vlad. (Obviously I am joking).
Honestly, I’m not a paranoid person, but the other day when I got a phone call from my merchant account asking me to fax them my statement red flags went up all over the place. If they are my Merchant account - why don’t they already HAVE my statement?? Hmm, I don’t think so.
“Fools rush in where angels fear to tread” must have been written when Saturn was in Virgo. For this cycle caution is the operative word.
A Month Full of Retrograde Planets! Oh my. No, we’re not in Kansas anymore Toto.
May’s complicated celestial ballet begins with the May 3rd Station Direct of Saturn (2′ Virgo), a New Moon in Taurus on the 5th and a Retrograde of Jupiter on the 9th (22′ Capricorn). Early May looks like a time for some kind of complicated financial restructuring. By then the Banking crisis will have reached the point where bailouts (for Banks, not consumers) and other large scale solutions to the Mortgage Crisis are underway. The forward movement of Saturn brings unacknowledged problems front and center, while the Retrograde of Jupiter tends to pull the covers off of the protections that have been at work. This gives us all no other choice but to work on real solutions. This is really good news for people who actually HAVE real solutions and not just more band-aids. Expect to see the Eco-boom begin in earnest now. People are seriously going to be looking for real, sustainable long-term answers to ongoing trouble - like gas prices, mortgage crisis, escalating costs of living, etc, etc. The list goes on.
But the dance does not end there, later in May a whole new set of shifting sands rearranges the picture once again. On May 25th Chiron turns Retrograde (21′ Aquarius) and on May 26th Neptune Retrogrades (24′ Aquarius) both of which tangle with the planets in Taurus, creating a financial tug-of-war on the personal level. But once again, long term new beginnings for business are really favored and we’ll see some real innovation happening now, it could be time for you to buy that solar powered egg-beater you’ve had your eye on. Also, get ready to revise all of your long-term ideas and plans now in light of a new set of information. And finally, last but not least the Full Moon in Sag on the 20th asks, in a not-so-gentle way, to let go of useless old ideas or ways of looking at things, and may even demand that we leave a group, association or affiliation behind. Remember, when one door closes another one opens!
Overall May is a very powerful month for the Earth signs: Taurus, Capricorn and Virgo to get busy with all your wordly Earth-changing plans. This is especially true if you were born in the first week of any of those signs or if you have significant planets in the first degrees of Earth, even better if those planets are exalted (like an early Taurus Moon, Mars in Capricorn or Uranus in Virgo for example). You’re getting a strong tailwind from the stars which can only help you gain altitude.

aries - Around the 11th of May there is a window of opportunity calling your name - don’t let it pass you by. Especially since around the 17th there is a burden or hardship on the horizon that you either must or choose to tackle or be forced to handle. So, if you get a nice tax return in early May, save it for the rainy day that sneaks up on you a week later. Towards the end of May, it won’t matter what comes your way, you’ll have the fortitude to get through it come hell or high water, or locusts, or dragons to slay, or, or…
taurus - Play like Nike and ‘just do it’ - whatever IT is. You can plow through a two ton concrete embankment now (and you might just try for the fun of it). There is some kind of momentum on your side and a big win is getting ready to pop for you. This isn’t the sort of out of the blue dumb luck that Sag’s take for granted all the time, this kind is for stuff you’ve worked long and hard for, so breath it in, enjoy it and celebrate. You deserve it.
gemini - You probably don’t think you are fickle, but sometimes other people do. And all month long you are gearing up to do something that will either make everyone else think you are fickle, or make them scratch their heads trying to figure out how you were 3 steps ahead of the game. Mercury enters the Shadow at 13′ Gemini on the 11th and goes into full-out Retrograde at 22′ Gemini on May 26th. This means for the next 2 months 87% of Gemini’s will drive 92% of the worlds population into a dizzying state of distraction. Could someone please get me the anti-dote?
cancer - Early in the month some new social life is born for you where you could find friendship and romance. The Full Moon on the 20th urges you to let go of some idea or philosophy about your routines, employees or heath/food habits. The downside here is that if you can’t seem to let go wrath could take over. If you find yourself in this position, aks for outside help. The Retrograde of Mercury in the subconscious part of your chart stirs up trouble and asks you to dive deep to find the source of any current problems.
leo - Battles over possesions and taking on too much stuff in your daily routines could leave you feeling zapped this month. Get some R&R and dive into the depths of your philosophical truth, this is where your own personal alchemy can take place. In fact the Universe is asking you to spend the next 6 months re-evaluating the validity or depth of a truth you’ve been taking for granted. The Zen Buddhists would say, that if you want to know the meaning of truth, you must first come to know the oneness of all things.
virgo - You can do very well in the early part of the month, and later too provided that you don’t get bit by the Mercury Retrograde in Gemini double-speak bug. That’s one bug you don’t want to give OR to get. So check and triple check all of your agreements and make sure that there are no loopholes or slippery slopes for people to weasel out of, because under this influence all forms of dealmaking are subject to interpretation and mucho morally grey area. Put a chastity belt on your daughter and pay extra careful attention to the legal-ese.
libra - Time to take inventory. It’s always a good idea to know what stock you have in the store - even when that store is your own inner warehouse of feelings, thoughts and beliefs. Your deeper side is dying for attention, expression and long walks down the garden path. Don’t get lost in the maze of philosophy that presents itself now. Your salvation will come from real, tangible deals and financial connections you can make with others this month.
scorpio - This month presents a mixed bag of confusing possibilities. It would be wise for you to meditate on your options and mull them over rather than leap like a Mexican jumping bean. You don’t want to put all your enchiladas in one basket, but you don’t want to miss the Fiesta either (it is Cinco De Mayo after all). My suggestion: take as much of an educated guess on the future as possible, then make a well thought through (but not exciting) decision. Then grab a Margarita and dance to the Mariachi music.
sagittarius - Holy Moley. That’s the official term for your Horoscope this month. Things are shaking more than a dance party in a California earthquake. Nothing, and I mean nothing is stable this month for you, so get used to the ground shifting and shaking. You will wind up having to let go of something near month’s end. Try not to shed huge crocodile tears, it’s something you need to let go of anyway. Romance and dating is so unpredictable that you should just set your alarm for mid June and take a break ’til then.
capricorn - Well, Saturn moves into direct mode early this month and it does help you to gain control over the crazy schedule you’ve been keeping. It also lands a heaping helping of control over your environment onto your plate - so make use of it while you can (for the next 6 months). Halted projects, delayed interludes and stalled motors get going again for you. Not a moment too soon either, so make your plans clear, set your schedule and organize all travel plans early in the month before Mercury messes with all of your routines after the 11th.
aquarius - This month you get into a ‘team up with others’ mode that could lead to financing, or getting into the financial markets. A cautious approach is best for you and be sure you fully understand the obligations you are taking on - because you WILL be obligated. At least you suddenly feel like your head is in order, just as family ’stuff’ looms out of nowhere and creative projects (or children) get crazy and really hard to manage as the month progresses. You’ll need to have your mind clear just to deal with everyone else!
pisces - Guppies dive into the safety of escapism while swimming in captive fish bowls, sharks must keep moving to sink teeth into their next meal and trout seek out the most crisp and beautiful environment in which to thrive. Which are you? Each has its own challenge this month, the guppie never even gets in the game, the shark finds the tables turned when tangling with a hunter and the trout can make a clean getaway if he avoids the bait. It takes awareness to navigate these strange waters. Keep a fishy eyed lookout.
