But if you watch closely you will see a guy goofing around, pretending to be a Paparazzi photographer. You can hear the other guys getting upset at him too. Well, that guy is a friend named Dustin
Dusty is an almost always hilarious, and usually fearless Gemini, and this shot proves it. It is very fitting that this funny Gemini named Dustin should shine the limelight back on the Gemini Ruled profession of the Paparazzi. Brit is a Sagittarius, Gemini is her opposite sign (opposites rule relationships) and she surely seems to have a constant relationship with these shutter bugs. Certainly that relationship has lasted longer than her romances.
So, if the tabloids really want to delve into the heart of Britney’s relationship woes, it will be most revealing to look at the guys taking the pictures, as well as the girl in them.
The latest news is that Britney Spears is threatening Paris Hilton with an X-rated lesbian Sex video to be released to the Internet. Apparently Paris snubbed Brit at her recent LA birthday party. This angered Britney enough to start some sort of sex tape brawl with her.
But the real question for us Astrologers is ‘why now’ and the answer is that Mars Retrograde stirs up anger and increases frustration. The result is a short, explosive temper tantrum between celebrities. Oh, and let’s not forget that one of the things Mars rules is sex, and fights. He loves nothing better than a sex tape scandal, especially if it involves a cat fight. So, you can bet that Mars (in this case thousands of horny guys) are, right now, as we speak, eagerly watching the Internet for signs that this juicy tape is ready for their viewing pleasure.
This Astrologer expects the wait to be rewarded with nothing more eye-popping than a girl on girl kiss. If Brit had known it, my Astrology could have helped her avoid this mud-fight with Paris altogether with a yearly forecast Astrology Reading to look at what the year would bring. But now we all know, the year will have quite a ‘Bang’ for the pop star.
Clearly there is something in the charts that Mary Kate and Ashley share that made them both fascinating to the public and therefore famous for their entire lives. Clearly they have made different choices in life - and every choice is an act of FREE WILL! This freewill always has consequences regardless of Astrology. The stars impel - the do not compel. In other words Astrology offers us the choices, and limits the results of our personal choices, but it is we ourselves who exercise Freewill in Astrology and every other area of our lives.
And as Shakespeare famously wrote: “The fault lies not in our stars, but in ourselves.” The most famous writer of our time understood the power of freewill regardless of what Astrology says, and this means that we also deserve the CREDIT when we do a good job or accomplish something in life - so don’t forget to cheer your victories - after all this may be the very best power that, God, Man the stars and our free will gives to us.
The messages of the madmen begin to emerge in November. Mercury turns Station Direct on Nov 2 at 23′ Libra which brings up old ’stuff’ around relationships and partnerships that aren’t quite complete, such as hoops and hurdles in finalizing divorce papers or ending a business deal. Then that crazy trickster leaves his Shadow Nov 17 at 9′ Scorpio bringing us all back full circle to whatever was happening back around mid-October. If you didn’t want something to end back then, be comforted because now it returns. But if you were trying to get out of something, well, it just doesn’t quite want to let go yet. Just when you thought it was over - they’re back!
And now we come to the part that is the hardest for me to swallow (AND it gives me heartburn) Mars turns Station Rx Nov 15 at 12′ Cancer. I don’t know how to candy coat this folks: Mars Retrograde is one nasty piece of work. This one throws his weight around and bullies those smaller than himself. If you thought the Venus retrograde mortgage cycle was intense, well Mars is even worse because he is agressive. This change of direction is taking place right on the USA’s Sun (and that of GW, and Tom Cruise, Lindsey Lohan and Pamela Anderson) voilence is not at all out of the question. The very best quote I can think of to describe retrograde Mars in Cancer is ‘Patriotism is a scoundrels last refuge’ and boy is he macho. Abusive men and bullies are likely to become more so during this cycle - take extra precautions.
More to the point of this time in our human history, we find Mars in Cancer creating sabotage and subterfuge of all things creative, fertile whole and unified. A cunning hypnotist, this one works against the greater good of society as a whole. The very best thing that can be done with this bass-ackward energy is to lay the groundwork for your own divine community of friends and soul-family and be ready to join with them when it’s needed and important. Community of the heart and soul is the one thing that no outside threat can ever tear apart - and it is one of the only things that we carry within our hearts for eternity. There are only a few things that are ultimately important in life - and the community that you share your heart with tops the list.
aries - The flip of your ruling planet Mars stirs up emotion, just be sure it doesn’t make you flip out! A big upheaval in your home is underway, and not only will you have to roll with it somehow, but you’ll also have to roll with the fact that nothing will be truly settled and clear until Spring of next year. Something that is deeply connected to your emotional roots, your Mom and your feelings and attitudes towards women and the feminine energy is making you take stock of the actions you take about them.
taurus - Early in the month a philosophical struggle creates a bitter taste when someone in your environment is willing to ‘win at all costs’ and you disagree with their tactics. After the 8th your mood shifts towards a greater desire for beauty and partnerships. You also find yourself looking at all sides of situation and hotly debating your point of view. Put your big plans into motion around the 20th.
gemini - I suppose having your choice of dating options is a quality problem, but be careful how you act or you will hurt someone. A potential partnership has just changed their mind and a new opportunity looks better than it did at first glance. Take your time making a decision, you won’t have all the information until mid month, when Mars decides to shake up your sense of security, hold on tight!
cancer - This month is the time to carefully consider forging new alliances and creating a greater sense of synergy with those who share your dreams. A very deep connection is is possible now with others, so I highly recommend that you go for it and don’t be afraid of those unfathomable spaces - there is deep wisdom at the bottom of that ocean. Just be very, very careful about Mars’ agression and keep it buttoned down.
leo - This is confusing and makes you question either your role or identity in a given situation. To make matters worse there is some sort of hidden agenda behind the scenes that you might be feeling but not seeing clearly. Be very cautious, someone may be treacherous while Mars flips in your Astrological ‘blind spot’.
virgo - Finally, you feel like you can convey your feelings more clearly again this month, but as things progress you’ll need to keep a close eye on what people are doing on the social scene. There is more than one hidden agenda afoot which could mean a grab for power, gossip or social slander. No, it’s not pretty.
libra - Mercury flips forward on your front doorstep. Aside from the x-games style acrobatics, it’s a relief to finally get a sense of where you really stand in your relationships. Just don’t get too comfortable, not only is it not really settled until mid-month, but that’s when Mars really stirs things up in a way that effects your career or social standing.
scorpio - Return to me! Weather or not this is your mantra now, it is most likely what you will get as Mercury does exactly that by mid-month. Things have changed though, and you may not be sure you still feel the same way. An exotic stranger, or new philosopy may pique your interest mid-month, just don’t expect them to be even remotely straight forward.
sagittarius - You are getting ready to make some big power plays this month. Woe be the person who underestimates you now; you are a force to be reconed with. The only trouble is, when acting like a force of reconing, sometimes you attract just that person who wants to fight ya to the death. Careful, careful with all that ‘making it happen’, universe has some say in it too.
capricorn - The argumentativeness of Mercury is giving you a headache early in the month, but you’re pretty organized and very effective for the fist half of the month, so put your paperwork, and house in order. When Mars flips in your house of Partnerships mid month you know that there are some major changes on deck.
aquarius - Mental chaos stimulates you, so you should be feeling all lit up like an early Christmas tree early in November. You can juggle, re-arrange and make more sense of your ideas around creativity and partnership now. Be careful in your daily routines and health practices though, Mars could signal an operation or some unexpected accident.
pisces - Shared financial plans begin to finally get straightened out and arranged to everyone’s satisfaction when Mercury starts to move forward this month. Along with that the Mars Retrograde can be extremely useful for anything you are doing connected to groups, teaching, events, publishing or foreigners. Reorganizing may cause some growing pains, but it will benefit you.

I would give Britney and Justin a zero chance of getting back together.
You cannot base the concept of soul mate on Sun / Moon mutual reception - that aspect is simply NOT that powerful.
This whole picture is a Venus Archetype picture. We do not respect or value Venus in our culture.
Justin has always been a classy guy, and chances are that he would still care about Brit and her well-being, and for this reason he might act like a real FRIEND and try to help her out of the hole she has gotten herself into. To all appearances Justin doesn’t have a lot of negative Venus stuff going on.
If he does befriend her again, it will be despite the public humiliation that she put him through back when they were breaking up. Most men are not capable of overcoming the type of ego blow that she dealt to him. But I do believe that he is that rare and more evolved kind of man who IS capable of overcoming it (through Venus’ unconditional love) - thus my statement that he is a rare and classy guy (especially by Hollywood’s low standards).
Britney has sabotaged herself and been on a long self-destruct mission (representing a lack fo respect for Venus). But Brit IS capable of really loving her kids (venus = love), and because she is capable of love - no matter how messed up and addicted she is right now - she has a reason to recover. Her Venus Return next year is likely to see her both re-uniting with her kids AND gaining affection and popularity in her career.
The Bombshell archetype is the Archetype of Venus - which is just now completing it’s retrograde cycle this week, only to join up with Saturn in a few days. This signals a tough lesson in personal values, which Britney is playing out on the public stage for all of us to witness. Britney is a mess and needs to get herself together, AND get a bit tougher. Also, she has not been able to handle the hostility and gossip in the tabloids that fame has brought her - this has caused her to self destruct. The biggest mistake she ever made was to not take Madonna’s offer to mentor her (another Venus bombshell). Madonna is one tough nugget and was able to handle it and make it through the hostility that people, mostly other women (Venus = women) love to direct at sexy, attractive, powerful women. Hostility towards women is a negative manifestation of Venus.
Honestly, until women stop doing this to each other there will never be equality between the sexes. When women direct hostility and hatred and competition at other women we all lose. Any destruction of the feminine sex is a destruction to ALL OF US. The small, the jealous and the gossipy, small minded cruelty of women towards other women is what CREATES and ALLOWS all subjugation of women to occur everywhere on the planet. Women (Venus) only invert, repress and crush Venus when they do this - they only crush themselves! In Magic the pentagram is the symbol of Venus, but the inverted (upside down) petagram represents the Devil. On a fundamental level this inverted pentagram is the reflection of believing ourselves trapped within the senses, where the physical dominates the spiritual. This is a FALSE belief and is NOT how the Universe works. The forms of repression women keep each other in include: pornograpy, economic slavery, gossip, vanity, cruelty, competitiveness, the desire for other women to fail, the desire for domination, unwillingness to love or care, and closed off heart energy.
American women have more power than any group of women on the planet, and yet we do not cry out as a group against the female castration and torture that takes place every day in Africa. If we did - it would stop. But we do not care, we do not see that allowing this to happen half way around the world is the same as allowing our own sisters, daughters and mothers to be tortured.
It doesn’t matter what the stars are saying about Brit - it is up to her. Britney Spears is just the latest example of one woman who cannot personally handle what she is experiencing. If Britney is to recover and overcome her limitations two things must happen: #1 She must begin to love and value herself (respect for Venus) and put herself back together. #2 Venus is the archetype of the female and of love. Women everywhere need to begin to root for Britney Spears and care for her recovery as if their own life depends on it because sooner or later it does.
This is my call for all women to unite in Agape (unconditional love) to overcome the petty tyranny of injustice (reversed Venus) everywhere on planet Earth.

In the ever changing orchestra of Planetary movements, today Jupiter goes Retrograde at 20′ Sagittarius. It will continue to ‘moonwalk’ backwards until August 7th when it resumes forward motion at 10′ Sagittarius.

The Sagittarius Degrees of 10-20 are getting a workout (this is also known as the 2nd Decan of Sagittarius) until the end of October. Just like when Mercury goes Retrograde these degrees get re-viewed, re-vamped, re-tooled, re-novated, and re-done.
WHAT JUPITER RULES: Edu-ma-cation, travel, foreign policy and all dealings with foreign cultures/governments, storytelling, publishing, teaching, luck, blessings, opportunity, expansion, prosperity, conspicuous consumption (especially of alcohol), rich foods, sugar imbalances and religious rightiousness. It also rules myth, paradigms, archetypes, teams, sports, and group allegiances. Jupiter is the bridge between personal consciousness and group connections/alliances. Philosophy, ideals and belief systems and marketing.
JUPITER IN SAGITTARIUS:This is the Most powerful place for Jupiter - he is at Home - King of his castle. Here he wears the bright purple royal robes of the King and his highness deals in impersonal theory, concept and general policy. He loves a good time, a good story and the Royal indulgences to which he is accustomed. He believes he is fair (this reality is debatable), he is concerned with belief and religion, the search for truth, as well as the moral concepts of ‘right vs. wrong’. This is generally a good place for Jupiter, but it’s expression is up to the individual and can be used or abused dependiing on personal choice (and spiritual development).
IN THE NEWS: How is this playing out in the current News? This years Eclipses in Virgo and Pisces are in stressful relationship with Jupiter, which has created problems in the areas of Health, daily routines, pets (Virgo) and spirituality, the food supply and/or escapism/drugs (Pisces). Since last fall I have been concerned with our US food supply, but so far it seems that our pets are the ones who are suffering from tainted foods. This is not good, and only getting worse. Drug busts have been covered in the news for the past weeks. Sagittarius Celebrities Britney Spears and Anna Nicole Smith have been all over the newswires and these stories aren’t any where near over. Both of them have famous drug problems, but don’t rule out poison (Eclipses in Pisces) with Anna Nicole, this story is NOT over yet! We will hear a LOT more about both of these women for the rest of 2007. How about conflicts among countries? How about the Iraq war nightmare, not to mention the Britain/Iran waterspace hostage issue. And I haven’t even mentioned the political laggerheads between congress, the House, the Senate and the President. Talk about a conflict of Philosophy. But the good news is that since it’s JUPITER we’re talking about, ultmately truth and justice will be served - it’s only a question of how long it will take.
Clearly this Jupiter stuff is a major theme of the year - and this is because of the Eclipses. Each and every one of us is feeling it on some personal, philosophical level. But it’s always the individual choice how to express that energy - but first we need to understand how it’s effecting us. Perhaps knowing in advance could have saved us a huge amount of our current hassle today, we’ll never know.

And the winner is…
In my previous Oscar Winner predictions post Oscar and the Eclipses; Two of my four picks were winners on Sunday, and even though I should have picked Helen Mirren to win for “The Queen” I did make a good argument for it in my previous post about the Eclipses and the Sag Awards. Virgo Jennifer Hudson was the real Oscar story though, coming out of the blue to win.
Beyond that the nostalgia factor was definitely there, and Oscar Winner Scorsese got his long overdue recognition; even though it was for the wrong movie! Certainly, “Taxi Driver,” and “Raging Bull” are foundational pillars of Film History, not to mention, “Mean Streets” and “Goodfellas.” But nobody ever said that Oscar was on time. In fact, he’s usually very OFF time. Personally, I was glad to see him acknowledge his daughter Dominica in his speech, since I remember when she spent a week sleeping on the couch of my Venice Apartment. She had her own apartment but had given it up to the producers of a film she was doing, …. The world of film is often far from glamorous. Anyway, daughter Dominica is in fact a Virgo - and thus falls in line with all the Eclipse trends, making it no real surprise to see her on screen at the Oscar ceremony.
I guess I coulda won some money if I’d actually bet on this Oscar season full of movies that I haven’t even seen, since I picked at least 3 of the top Oscar Winners. But I WAS glad to see Oscar honors go to the one movie I did actually get to the theater for: “Pan’s Labyrinth” which I highly recommend. It was a visually stunning, and very melancholy grown up fairy tale. The movie was fully carried by pint sized actress Ivana Baquero who really deserved her own Oscar nod. But then, she’s not one of the favored signs this season. She’s a Gemini (June 11, 1994) which is one of the signs getting tormented by this Eclipse. Still she played the tormented one beautifully in the movie.
The other notable point about the Virgo Eclipse and the winners this Oscar season is the fact that Virgo has a relationship to the world of tailoring and the technical side of the clothing industry. It is not lost on me that the Star of “The Devil Wears Prada,” Anne Hathaway has been almost universally maligned for her Oscar’s dress. It’s not that the dress was SO very terrible, but the fit was, and produced a ‘lumpy’ effect. Not good on a pretty girl. Someone should have hired her a great Virgo tailor to get it right. By the way, there were a lot of bad dresses out there, and a few realy stunning ones, like the one Oscar Winner Hellen Mirren wore that made her look so very pretty.
But for my money the real Oscar winner yesterday was our hostess Ari Altfeld who’s gourmet tappas coulda shamed those at even the best Oscar Parties. This girl’s got talent!
Yahoo just posted this story: The SAG awards have been handed out. They make top mention of Eddie Murphy winning for Best Supporting Actor, and co-star Jennifer Hudson sweeping the Best Supporting Actress category (Murphy is a Pisces). In my last post I noted that the March Eclipses take place in Virgo and Pisces, and I noted that we are already under thier spell. It is thrilling to see Murphy getting the attention of his peers in this way, after such a long and winding career. It is something of an Eclipse in the sense that there is now a radical change in his career and reputation.
But more to the Astrological point are the awards for Best Actor and Best Actress given to Hellen Mirren (Leo) for “The Queen” and Forrest Whitaker (Cancer) for playing Idi Amin in “The Last King of Scotland.” Those of you who have joined my Astrology Conference Calls know that I call the Sun - THE KING and the Moon - THE QUEEN. I couldn’t ask for a more relevant SAG awards ceremony! What makes this even more interesting is that Helen Mirren is a LEO - which is ruled by the SUN (and which I call the KING) and Forest Whitaker is a CANCER - which is ruled by the MOON (and which I call the QUEEN). An Eclipse is literally the time when one obscures the other. This year the battle of the sexes is on and we shall see who ultimately wins the Oscar nod - it could be one, it could be the other, it could be both, or it could be neither.
The SAG awards are highly treasured and coveted by actors - because they indicate the approval of the other actors in the world, which is the toughest audience of all to impress. While we travel through the sign of Aquarius, the approval of peers is perhaps the most important thing of all since our emphasis is on group activities and social standing. It is no accident that Aquarius is the time of the year that is commonly referred to as “Awards Season.” The air crackles with excitement and anticipation, no one knows what’s coming next, outfits are extravegant and the crowd is reveted on a single point of focus. This is the heart of the Aquarius side of the energy that I call the “RUBY RAY.” This year we have 2 Total Eclipses which goes a very long way towards explaining the current fascination with the King and Queen energy as they Eclipse each other, both in the sky, and in our entertainment mediums.
