The Pisces Full Moon

September 15th, 2008 by auracle · 3 Comments

Today the Full Moon is in Pisces at 23′ which asks us to bring some Piscean style element of our lives to a conclusion. To see the whole Year’s Moon Phases go to this page.

The two weeks following a Full Moon are a time for us to release and let go of something connected to the sign of the Full Moon - in this case Pisces. This can mean anything that is governed by Pisces. Here is a partial list of Pisces ruled subjects:

Escapism
Alcohol
Drugs
Make-up
Photography (with film, not digital)
Religion
Fantasy
The subconscious
Paint
Dreams (without action backing them up)
Delusions & Illusions
Fog
Co-dependency
Minerals, Gems or anything that comes out of the sea or land including agriculture
Property and Land

Additionally, the chart house where you are experiencing the Full Moon will impact what area of life you are being asked to let go of something.

For Example: The Full Moon in Pisces in your 5th house of lover’s, children and creative projects might ask you to give up a fantasy about a lover, or ask you to let go of an issue related to drugs or medication for your child, or it could show you where you have been in delusion and not action around a creative project. These are all Pisces issues through the lens of the 5th house.

Another example might be: The Full Moon in Pisces in your 3rd house of siblings, neighbors, short trips and communications. The Full Moon in Pisces in the third house might suggest you are spending too much time on the phone/e-mail/fax machine or running around town for a dream. Or it could suggest that there would be mail that puts an ending to something connected to your agriculture, mining or other land related issue. The Pisces Full Moon in the 3rd house could also suggest a drug or alcohol related problem in connection to a sibling or neighbor that you will need to ‘let go’ of in some way.

These are just a few examples of what the Pisces Full Moon could mean in different chart houses. Below are the houses and their meanings:

1st house: Self expression, how others see you
2nd house: Money and possessions, sensuality
3rd house: Siblings, Neighbors, short trips and communication
4th house: Home and immediate family, emotional roots, Mom
5th house: Children, creative projects, lovers and pleasures
6th house: Routines, work, employee’s, pets, health
7th house: Partnerships, justice, legalities, contract
8th house: Shared finances, stocks, bonds, mortgages, sex & death
9th house: Groups, foreigners, higher education, philosophy
10th house: Career, reputation, Status symbols, Dad
11th house: Politics, Humanitarian causes, social groups, parties, complicated systems
12th house: The unconscious, dreams, secrets, mysticism, art, insanity

You can use this guide to get a better idea of what the Full Moon in Pisces means to you, and what you are being asked to let go of over the next 2 weeks.

For a more detailed look at the WHOLE picture of what is going on in your life then I recommend an ASTROLOGY CHART REPORT. More about Saturn Transiting Virgo

July 4th, 2008 by auracle · 1 Comment

Talking about Saturn we need to remember that it is the ASPECTS that have the power, not simply the presence of a planet in one sign or another.

WHAT’S A TRANSIT? I’m glad you asked. A transit is when a planet moving through the sky makes an aspect or a pattern with the planets in your own Natal Chart.

WHAT’S AN ASPECT? A mathematical degree used by Astrologers to see what planet in your Natal Chart is being ‘touched’ and how it’s being touched, ie: caressed or throttled? and for how long this ‘touching’ will continue to go on.

WHAT ARE PATTERNS? These are shapes made by a few planets together, like squares and triangles and long stretchy triangles. Remember art class? See, that stuff was useful after all.

WHAT’S A NATAL CHART? It is the snapshot of the heavens at the moment when YOU were born. It is a lot like a snowflake or a fingerprint. It is unique. Most Natal Charts only refer to a flat view of the heavens. But there are at least 3 more dimensions to see than this. You will learn about this in the FREE ASTROLOGY SECRETS REPORT that you get when you subscribe to my WEEKLY NEWSLETTER. You can learn more about the 4-D NATAL CHART by going HERE.

Saturn WILL ONLY BE IN EFFECT when he is within a ASPECT of a Natal Planet (A planet in YOUR birth chart.) During those windows of time THE ASPECT will trigger events in your life. I consider it in effect when within 3 degrees - no more.

DON’T FORGET THAT THE ENTIRE GEN X is getting major Saturn Transits sometime in the next 2 years.

Saturn is no pick-nick by any stretch - regardless of what others have said. Here are some types of Saturn experiences:

LAWSUITS
DIVORCES
ILLNES
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY
FATHER FIGURE PROBLEMS
BOSS PROBLEMS
PARKING TICKETS - TAXES - IRS
BANKING RED TAPE (yes foreclosure!)

and YES, when I was having bad Saturn transits - several people in my life died.

Additionally: It is the Patters that are triggered that suggest if you will come out on the winning (or losing) end of tangles with Saturn.

FOR EXAMPLE: If Saturn made a conjunction to your URANUS IN VIRGO - and you also had a GRAND TRINE in your own Natal Chart with say URANUS - SUN - JUPITER all in EARTH signs, then the hard work that Saturn triggers might put you in charge of your own business, or get you organized to open your own massage school. This is exactly what a client who has a Grand Trine being triggered by Transiting Saturn, is doing.

clearly this is NOT bad for her!

But that’s not all: HARD PATTERNS triggered by Saturn = tough times. Hard patterns are: Squares, oppositions, quincunx, T-squares, Grand Crosses, Yods and a variety of others. Not to mention the Saturn midpoints and the challenges that they can unleash!

It can be difficult for those of us pros who want to look a the WHOLE PICTURE to boil it down to one small sound bite or another.

For your sake: Here’s my best effort at a sound-bite on Saturn IN VIRGO:
**by the way Saturn rules the anus**

The bean counters have taken over the world! Death by a thousand paper cuts!

IE: Camera traffic cops are enforcing every intersection in the major cities. Seems like no way to win against those bean counters.

The only way to fight beans is with beans!

Details, details, details, hair-splitting and a puckered behind, especially with laws. This is how you can win in the end. In other words: got an electronic traffic ticket for $400? Well, you DO have the right to face your accuser.

Huh? Face a camera? Not exactly, but you can demand to know if it was functioning right, you can demand paperwork. If they can’t produce it - or if no cop shows up, you win. Technicality. A shell game for cash.

Don’t be the dupe, have your facts screwed on nice and tight.

REMEMBER: he or she who has the tightest behind WINS all Saturn battles!

Want to know what Saturn has in store for you? Then order a NATAL CHART and instead of entering info for your partner, just type in SATURN!

Please note that this information will be good for a range of about 6 weeks from the date of delivery. For the first 5 people I will also include a list of SATURN WARNING DATES when you must avoid contracts, starting a new job, moving, or other important beginning - the trouble this could save you is priceless!

Don’t wait to get your 4D-NATAL CHART, once Saturn is in your back yard, it’s too late to get prepared.

Neptune in Aquarius - How’s He Treating You?

June 16th, 2008 by auracle · No Comments

Most Astrology sites will tell you all about what the planet in the sign is supposed to mean, ie: Neptune in Aquarius should be good for humanitarian causes, and technology etc. And this is useful for looking at some of the trends and what they mean. Yes, this is a good time for the innovation of services for the masses of humanity, for computers and other techie gadgets, but this is far from the whole picture. The real JUICE from Astrology for you, dear reader, comes from understanding the aspects Neptune is making as he travels through Aquarius.

Aspects are good or bad depending on their geometry - the angles they make and the overall patterns that they are part of.

A square is hard, a trine is usually a blessing. But the PATTERN is more important than just these aspects alone.

When Neptune is part of a Grand Cross (currently that would be in Fixed signs: Taurus, Scorpio, Aquarius & Leo) it is very different than if he was part of a Grand Trine (currently that would be in Air signs: Gemini, Libra & Aquarius).

Neptune as part of hard aspects in the fixed signs will be about money, identity, social scene and debt. It will also be about our connection to fixed and inflexible points of view. Neptune will help to melt those stubborn streaks. It may be hard to take though, since squares and oppositions bring crisis to the surface. Neptune in Square or opposition will also help bring something to a screeching halt. Endings may appear sudden, but usually they’ve been brewing for a long time.

Neptune in Trine helps to grow something, make it last, give it some spiritual ‘glue’ and help it to stick. Currently in air signs, this means that ideas, words and rules are being nourished by Neptune.

One of the reasons that it is so hard for people to get a handle on what a Neptune transit will do, is that Neptune is in charge of so very many parts of our lives. This means that there are really a TON of possibilities in how he can manifest. Forgetting or losing our memory of something and having it Zero-ed out is just one of a great many possibilities. Others include: selling, growing things, dealing with minerals or oil… But there are too many to list here.

There are other patterns that he can be part of as well, and each one has a major meaning: The kite, the unequal triangle, the Yod, the mini Trine, the mystic rectangle the dreaded T-Square and on and on.  So the story of the huge and slow transits of Neptune in Aquarius will be told by the PATTERN he’s making - with the other planets in the sky, and with the planets in your own personal Chart.

EXAMPLES:  Problems: Neptune in Aquarius is creating a Grand Cross for fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) which creates stress and tension around old systems and structures and helps to break down the old ways of doing things. This is ONE of the reasons for the Mortgage crises right now - Scorpio rules Mortgages and Taurus rules money - both of these signs are getting melted down by Neptune in Aquarius. Problems and crises will be highlighted when someone is too materialistic or controlling (Scorpio), too egotistical (Leo), too attached to security and creature comforts (Taurus) or too much of an intellectual elitist (Aquarius). The action of Neptune serves to dissolve these fixed and stubborn ways of being and make room for something more far reaching and of service to humanity (Aquarius).

Blessings: Neptune is creating a Grand Trine with planets at mid Libra and Gemini.  Anyone who has planets at both of these places would be having great luck and easy blessings in the areas of print and the media, partnerships and contracts, business building, legalities and patents, creating and enforcing new rules, intellectual properties and patents.

It is very tempting to overlook the major themes of the large, slow moving planets and what they mean. Basically Neptune in Aquarius is opening our collective minds (Air signs) and clearing away the superficial systems we’ve created (fixed signs) in order to make room for something that is more spiritually meaningful and satisfying. This includes spiritual journeys, soul-mates and all the things that give our life meaning. Deep memories from the past may also emerge - including those that come from past lives. These are all under his domain. Ultimately Neptune is concerned with the needs of our spirit, our soul. Neptune in Aquarius calls our attention to the collective soul-needs of humanity and how to meet them.

Chinese Astrology - A basic overview

February 11th, 2008 by auracle · No Comments

Like any ancient system, a full understanding of Chinese Astrology is extremely complicated, but here are a few basic rules. If you want to get into much greater detail here is a very thorough site on Chinese Astrology.

THE CHINESE ASTROLOGY YEARS

The Year of the Rat - 1900 1912 1924 1936 1948 1960 1972 1984 1996 2008
The Year of the Ox - 1901 1913 1925 1937 1949 1961 1973 1985 1997
The Year of the Tiger - 1902 1914 1926 1938 1950 1962 1974 1986 1998
The Year of the Cat - 1903 1915 1927 1939 1951 1963 1975 1987 1999
The Year of the Dragon - 1904 1916 1928 1940 1952 1964 1976 1988 2000
The Year of the Snake - 1905 1917 1929 1941 1953 1965 1977 1989 2001
The Year of the Horse -1906* 1918 1930 1942 1954 1966* 1978 1990 2002
The Year of the Goat - 1907 1919 1931 1943 1955 1967 1979 1991 2003
The Year of the Monkey - 1908 1920 1932 1944 1956 1968 1980 1992
The Year of the Rooster - 1909 1921 1933 1945 1957 1969 1981 1993 2005
The Year of the Dog - 1910 1922 1934 1946 1958 1970 1982 1994 2006
The Year of the Pig - 1911 1923 1935 1947** 1959 1971 1983 1995 2007**

THE CHINESE ELEMENTS

The five elements: Metal, Water, Wood, Fire and Earth
These elements rotate in a 10 year cycle, when combined with the animal years we get a 60 year cycle. The rotation goes like this:
Yang Wood, Yin Wood,
Yang Fire, Yin Fire,
Yang Earth, Yin Earth,
Yang Metal, Yin Metal,
Yang Water and Yin Water

The elements either support or destroy one another when combined - and this has a great impact on compatibility with others and your luck during a given year. These are also the principles that Feng Shui is based upon.

2008 is the year of the Earth Rat - specifically it is a YIN (female) Earth Rat, also called the Brown Earth Rat. Last year - 2007 was also an Earth year, but it was YANG earth year, in the animal year of the Pig.

Because the Chinese New Year always begins on a New Moon many people make the mistake of believing it follows the Lunar (Moon cycle). This is not true. It would be far more appropriate to say that it follows the Jupiter Cycle - which lasts 12 years, just like the 12 animal years. The Chinese New year does not actually start until the next Chinese New Calendar begins - which takes place when the Tiger Month begins each year. In 2008 this actually happens on FEB 4th.

The FIVE Elements of Chinese Astrology either support or fight with each other. Elements support each other in the following order:

Metal supports Water nourishes Wood feeds Fire gives to Earth grows Metal

The Destructive relationships are:

  • Wood fights with Metal
  • Fire fights with Water
  • Soil fights with Wood
  • Metal fights with Fire
  • Water fights with Soil

Since this is an Earth year it is especially good for those born in a Metal year. It will be more challenging for those born in a Water or Wood year.

To find your own years of greatest Balance - and therefore greatest luck in Chinese Astrology go here.

*The year of the Fire Horse. Anyone one born in this year is considered to be so head strong and full of impulse that they are often dangerous and disruptive to the home. It was considered especially bad to be a girl born in this year and is called hinoeuma. In ancient China girl babies born in a Fire Horse year were often drowned, and were considered unmarriageable. In 1966 the abortion rate in China was so high that it was shocking because so many parents did not want to have Fire Horses in their homes. Many other parents simply waited until the following year to register the birth of their child to help the baby avoid the prejudice such Fire Horse children (especially girl children) would receive.

**The year of the Golden Pig. Considered in Chinese Astrology to be the luckiest of all years. The most auspicious time to start a business or other profit making venture. To me this is because of the alignment of Jupiter and Pluto which takes place once every 60 years, and therefore is always present during the year of the Golden Pig. This is a generally lucky influence - but it will ONLY be lucky for you personally if it is making good aspects for YOU.

What it really takes to learn Astrology

January 10th, 2008 by auracle · 3 Comments

Learning Astrology is a complicated process and is more akin to learning an artform than anything else.  Sure, you can buy a cookbook and learn to make a cake - but that doesn’t make you Chef (who is actually able to think in the language of food).

Most people start learning Astrology with something often referred to as ‘cookbook astrology’ which makes the cake analogy obvious.  Clearly cookbook astrology is incomplete - but it is the place where most people start.  It sure helps a lot if you are learning from some good teachers.  I found a really good site that offers Astrology Book Reviews where you can read about the available Astrology Books out there.

In this article he reviews a Transit book by ‘Robert Hand’ who’s books I recommend, we could even go as far as to say that Hand is one of the icons of the Astrology world.  A few other authors I recommend are ‘Robert Green’ and ‘Richard Tarnas’ although these two authors are somewhat more advanced than Robert Hands work - so he should be read first.  Robert Green’s work is very deep and multi dimensional and Richard Tarnas gives a very insightful overview of Astrology.  Both Tarnas and Green look at Astrology from a more well rounded perspective than the usual ‘cookbook’ style of standard Astrology books.

BUT - for anyone learning Astrology it is vital to have a basic reference book to go to.  I recommend this Learn Astrology Book for it’s ease of use, complete information and accuracy.

How to use the New Moon Cycles for planning

January 7th, 2008 by auracle · 1 Comment

Astrology has long been used by those in the know in order to select the best timing to start things.  Thomas Jefferson not only used Astrology, but published “The Farmers Almanac” which is an Astrological guide for successful agriculture.

Here is a general overview of what each New Moon cycle is good for:

New Moon Cycles
Aries: The Moon is not comfortable in Aries.  The best use of this energy is for exploration, adventure, beginning new sports or competitive activities, leading a new idea or campaign, planning an event or party, stirring people up, and fighting injustice.

Taurus: The Moon is MOST happy in Taurus.  This is a great time to focus on earthly, sensual delights like getting a massage or going to the spa. All physical luxuries are favored now; good fabrics, fine foods, etc.  This is an excellent time to begin anything related to these areas, or to create art, or invest your money.

Gemini: This is a time when we are impatient, easily bored and need a lot of stimulation.  A great time to start an acting, speaking or performing class, or begin a written project or communicate your ideas in new ways.  Short journeys, meetings with co-workers, neighbors or siblings are also likely at this time.

Cancer: The Moon is at HOME in Cancer: here she is the goddess energy - the power of the divine feminine.  Sensitive, emotional and family oriented plans are favored now.  Connect to those who make you feel loved and safe, create community. A good time for a dinner party or close gathering. Begin new recipes, or business associated with beverages and/or food now.

Leo: People want to enjoy themselves now,  this is a great time to start a party planning business or connect with a local celebrity. Start things that are colorful, creative exciting and flamboyant now.  The focus can also be on children and starting something connected to a child.

Virgo: Mental , emotional and physical health plans are under scrutiny, pay attention to what you eat, create a new eating plan now, hire employees, take care of or get a pet.  start a new daily routine. Clear up and organize day-to-day activities: bills, paperwork, schedules, details in the home.

Libra: The Moon is not comfortable in Libra and needs peace, beauty and harmony in order to feel at ease.  A good time to use art therapy or feng shui to balance out problems or tensions. A good time for beauty as expression of self, but only if it is healing from the inside out. Learn to love and accept yourself at this time.

Scorpio: Time to look into the depths of things, solve a mystery, transform or recycle something or gain a new perspective on something or someone.  A good time to let go of emotional ties or constraints.  Find the Newness in old endings, look to the future as if you have a blank slate and become the creative master of your future.

Sagittarius: A very philosophical time: learn something new, take a new class and delve into the roots of the human mind, language, metaphor and understanding.  A time to tell new stories, travel abroad, create new gatherings, start an adventure and meet people from exotic far away backgrounds.

Capricorn: The Moon is burdened in Capricorn.  This is the best time to acknowledge limitations and constraints and plan how to make the best use of them or get help removing them. Learn the rules, and how to follow them; put together detailed proposals, paperwork, bank statements and other types of homework.

Aquarius: We feel eclectic at this time. New inventions and sudden flashes of insight are probable now, take the time to ponder and try to solve weird or unusual situations and problems. Start anyting that serves large numbers of people now: mass transportation, large scale housing projects, shipping, the internet, politics, TV, etc.

Pisces: The Moon is dreamy here. A rich and creative time, also very psychic.  Tune into the emotional currents that effect humanity, start anything related to glamor/make-up, photography, oil, minerals, agriculture, the food supply, film, land, property, religion, sales or broadcasting.

I will post about how to use the FULL MOON at the next full moon, which takes place in Leo Jan 22nd.

The 8th House, Debt and Credit Cards

January 3rd, 2008 by auracle · 1 Comment

I found this really astute article about Credit Card debt and the 8th house.  It gives a very good overview of what to watch for in order to be conscious about potential debt issues.  I would also add to these guidelines another note: mortgages are also governed by the 8th house, as are stocks, bonds, banking and any other type of shared financial ‘hallucination.’ *I am using the word hallucination because it really is all just a hallucination of numbers once you look at the complicated, and mostly mental formulas used to determine how money works in these markets.*

Mortgages are most relevant now, since there has been a huge downturn in the housing market (I’ve been talking about this for the past 2 years), and I expect the downtrend to last for at least another 18 months.  But, for the beginning Astrologer, one of the things to watch for is what planets might be in your own 8th house that are getting aspected, or what planets might be traveling through your 8th house.

Why people disagree with Astrology

January 2nd, 2008 by auracle · No Comments

This article: Astrology, it’s no pseudoscience gives a very good overview of the three types of groups that have an argument with Astrology. The way I look at it, it’s pretty hard to disprove something you can’t understand.  In my experience most skeptics can’t really understand Astrology, and mostly succumb to contempt prior to investigation - which would get you fired if you were a detective!

Ironically, this sort of skepticism usually has Astrological indicators in a person’s chart. Someone with a lot of contacts between Saturn and Neptune or Saturn and Mercury will be very inflexible in the way they think or the point of view that they hold.  Sometime the argument against Astrology is a religious one.  Neptune rules religion, and when Neptune combines with Saturn, especially in the conjunction, square, opposition or quincunx it creates an extremely inflexible attitude - regardless of logic.

On the other extreme scientific people usually have Mercury - Saturn contacts.  These contacts allow them to have the very linear and logical thought processes needed for science.  So the next time you run into a serious skeptic - look at their chart for these indicators.  You won’t prove anything to them, but you will increase your own understanding of human nature!

The Winter Solstice, the Grinch and Santa Clause - Brrrr

December 21st, 2007 by auracle · No Comments

Today is the winter solstice - the shortest, coldest day of the year. This is the day that has forever been used for ‘bringing in the light‘ ceremonies. These ceremonies serve to spiritually ask the light to return, since if it were to keep on getting smaller and colder, it wouldn’t be long before we were all human popsicles.

The day is short, not just because the Earth is far from the Sun but also because we are tilted away from the Sun. This is important because whenever a planet is over the North pole - it is cold. The opposite is true when it is over the South pole - then it is hot.

The story of Santa Clause is the story of the darkest coldest most Saturn day of the year being warmed up and lighted up by the Jolly Generous Fat Man (Jupiter). It is the metaphor for the returning of the light. We humans need this story, we need to believe that the light and the warmth will return. We need to believe that the light will crowd out the darkness, and it always does.

So light a candle and light the one that lives in your own soul. This is the day of the year that is ultimately about the Goodness of heart, spirit and generosity overcoming dark, bitter mean corners, sometimes called the Grinch. The best remedy for the Grinch is hearty laughter.

You’re a mean one, Mr. Grinch.
You really are a heel.
You’re as cuddly as a cactus,
You’re as charming as an eel.
Mr. Grinch.

You’re a bad banana
With a greasy black peel.

You’re a monster, Mr. Grinch.
Your heart’s an empty hole.
Your brain is full of spiders,
You’ve got garlic in your soul.
Mr. Grinch.

I wouldn’t touch you, with a
thirty-nine-and-a-half foot pole.

The Grinch stealing Christmas

You’re a vile one, Mr. Grinch.
You have termites in your smile.
You have all the tender sweetness
Of a seasick crocodile.
Mr. Grinch.

Given the choice between the two of you
I’d take the seasick crocodile.

You’re a foul one, Mr. Grinch.
You’re a nasty, wasty skunk.
Your heart is full of unwashed socks
Your soul is full of gunk.
Mr. Grinch.

The three words that best describe you,
are, and I quote: “Stink. Stank. Stunk.”

You’re a rotter, Mr. Grinch.
You’re the king of sinful sots.
Your heart’s a dead tomato splot
With moldy purple spots,
Mr. Grinch.

Your soul is an apalling dump heap
overflowing with the most disgraceful assortment
of deplorable rubbish imaginable,
Mangled up in tangled up knots.

You nauseate me, Mr. Grinch.
With a nauseaus super-naus.
You’re a crooked jerky jockey
And you drive a crooked horse.
Mr. Grinch.

You’re a three decker saurkraut and toadstool sandwich
With arsenic sauce.
