Financial Astrology is the real truth of this planet, and yet, the debate over Pluto rages on; Is it a planet, isn’t it a planet, is it a ‘dwarf’ planet, is it smaller than Eris, is it bigger than Eris. OK guys (Astronomers I mean), we know you all want to compare the size of what’s in your pants, but leave the Solar System out of it will ya.

Financial Astrology makes use of the Dwarf Planet.

It doesn’t really matter who has a bigger package – or what the Astronomers of the world want to call Pluto. None of us like to be labeled. And if you interview 100 women you will find that 90 out of 100 will agree that size isn’t the most important thing. The finances on the other hand, are more important which is where the financial Astrology of Pluto comes into play. Wikipedia has a good definition here. Which is a nice overview of what financial astrology is all about.

In financial Astrology we make use of the planets to predict trends, changes and find opportunities for ourselves. Finacial Astrology can also provide amazing insight into how we share what we have with other people – and why. Astrologically speaking, Pluto is the planet of subconscious “ID” desires as Freud would like to describe it. In true Freudian fashion, Pluto is all about the sex drives as well as the desire for power, control and domination – which often translates into the world of finances and Financial Astrology. Pluto is no lightweight by any measure – and even though he may be light compared to the other objects in our solar system, he packs a pretty good punch.

Pluto is also responsible for our collective unconscious and the drives that effect it as well as the merging of ourselves with others in not just the sex act, but also how we work together to get our needs met. He governs things like stocks, bonds and the use of money as well as shared resources, which is why he is useful in financial astrology. He’s a pretty important player on the stage of life, and right now, with our current financial world woes, I would have to say he’s most definitely making his presence felt. It is probably the movement of Pluto more than any other planet that has had a huge impact on the world finances – thus proving his usefulness in Financial Astrology.

So, when all is said and done, the Pluto in your Astrology Chart doesn’t really care if he’s a planet, a dwarf, an Oort belt object or a pink cupcake with frosting. He just makes sure that you know all about power, passion and the depths of your unconscious mind. He also has a major impact on ALL financial matters (financial astrology), and this current debate about weather or not he exists seems to make a perfect metaphor for what is taking place in the world finances right now, and Financial Astrology gives a good glimpse into how that will play out. So Pluto is useful, no matter how much macho size posturing the Astronomers of the world like to do, which is why he is the first thing I look at when doing a Financial Astrology Reading for a client.

Planet Earth, The Environment, GREEN Astrology

OK, this really has nothing to do with Astrology but I found it to be just plain cool as can be, and besides I like to knit. As you may know, if you read me regularly or subscribe to my Accurate Horoscope Newsletter – the Environment is my #1 political cause. Earth really needs us to pay attention to her needs. My brief glimpses into 2009 Astrology trends only confirm this and point out the problems that I see coming. But every cloud has some kind of silver lining, and right now, the silver lining is that the way OUT of current financial crisis will come from an ECO-BOOM of green business. All kinds of green business.

So I found this cool blog with a great pattern for knitting a grocery bag. You see, those plastic bags that we get at the store don’t bio-degrade, and they choke and kill wild animals, especially in the ocean. They are truly one nasty little piece of work. So, the alternative is to carry your own. That knitted bag is really cute – way better than what we usually see out there. And if you want to take it one step further, you can actually knit yourself a bag out of old plastic grocery bags! you use the bags themselves as the ‘yarn’. Now that’s creative. And GREEN. Maybe someone out there is enterprising enough to make this idea into an Eco-boom green business?! You’d be smart if you did.

Astrology and Pop Culture

I often see Astrology references in pop culure, but especially in music. Song titles like, “Bad Moon Rising” make subtle reference that is often over the heads of the listeners. A new album out called ‘Kind of New’ makes reference to the Head of the Dragon – an Astrology reference to the Moon’s Nodes, and specifically to the path of destiny and soul purpose, also called Dharma by the Tibetans.

It’s not surprising to learn that singer, songwriter Mary Halvorson is a knowledgeable Astrologer, even pointing out that some Musicians have used the ancient secret art of Astrology to help them achieve success. Ahhh, this is a girl after my own heart. This makes her music worth a serious look-see.

Also, we constantly see SPACE in popular culture. From UFO sightings to Klingon’s and the romantic gesture of buying someone a personal STAR at the star registry. You may find it fun to check out the website Bad Astronomy even though it puts a whole ton of effort into debunking Astrology.

Here’s my take on his point of view: most Astrology really is bad, so he’s not wrong. But he’s not right either. Before I explain why he’s not right, let’s take a look at what is commonly called ‘scientific thinking.’ By definition Scientific thinking is considered black and white, and provable through verifiable results. This is our idea of ‘rational thought’.

But what about quantum physics? Quantum physics is DEFINITELY scientific. It has also given us particle accelerators, split atoms and masses of power that could only be dreamt of by other forms of science. Clearly, by the eslf proclaimed rules of ‘scientific thinking’ Quantum physics has give us RESULTS. Ya can’t really argue with results. But here’s the rub; quantum physics does not use ‘scientific thought’ at all! In Quantum physics there is only that which is probable or not probable. It is through a series of assmuptions that results are produced! HUH? That sounds like intuition! But it produces scientifically verifiable results! How can this be?

One science experiment that was graphically explained in ‘What the Beep Do We Know?” shows how the act of watching an experiment influences the outcome of that experiment. Wow. Where does that put black and white scientific thinking? I don’t really know. All I know is that results speak for themselves. If results are what we are after, then limited thinking has to go. Maybe life is kinda grey, or actually just shades of tan, like skin.

Astrology and Sports?!?

Yes, it’s true, there’s an Astrologer out there who makes forecasts for Football sports teams. This article gives you the top NFL Astrology picks from an unnamed Vedic Astrologer. I have done evaluations for sports teams myself and was published in the LA Times back for my prediction of the Laker’s championship win. It takes quite a bit of work to look into sports teams and their chances of winning, but if you’re a big fan (or you bet on the NFL then I’m sure it’s worth it.

Please NOTE: This seems like something followed by expert gamblers (which I am not – I don’t even understand the lingo). So please be careful with the information unless you know more than I do about sports! Probably you do, since I am hopelessly lost when it comes to anything connected to the NFL. I get Astrology, but NFL language is over my head. That’s ok, I’m not really that into football anyway. Still, some of those guys look really great in their tights….

I found some really great stories on Astrology that you might like, including this one about the chart of Vice President Joe Biden by Criag Malone, I know we will all be paying close attention to the Vice Presiden Elect, so now is a good time to start getting familiar with the Astrology the effects him.
