The Void-of-course Moon rules go like this: When the Moon has made her last aspect in a sign before moving to the next sign she is in the state of Void-of-course, also known as the Void Moon. This essentially means that all her work is done in the outer world. It also means that actions taken or started during the Void Moon time wind up being ‘null and void’ – they don’t lead to anything.
BUT, the Void Moon IS good for a few things, especially for inner work, deep reflection, psychic development and bringing spiritual meaning to your life. It is probably the MOST powerful time for the Occult. And of course, my favorite observation about the void is that it is best used for HUMOR, some of my favorite side splitting moments, rolling on the ground laughing hysterically are because of the Moon Void. So, please enjoy it responsibly.
A member of my family is born under a Void Moon so it has been a lifelong study for me. I wondered if that meant the usual Void of Course rules would or would not apply.
We tested it one year by filing her taxes during a Void moon.
That was the year when she got audited. YIKES! Void Moon person, using Void moon = NOT VOID EXPERIENCE. We have since come to the conclusion that the VOID MOON time is especially powerful for her – but only because her OWN MOON IS VOID. it also means that normal timing doesn’t work for her – most of what she tries is ineffective in the outside world *except during the Void Moon, at that time she produces almost super-powered results.*
For most people the opposite is true. Nothing happens when normal people do things on the Void Moon.
The moral of the story? If you have a normal Moon in your chart then DON’T EVER DO ANYTHING IMPORTANT DURING THE VOID MOON! The exception is if your own Moon is Void. This is extremely rare – and therefore unlikely. The quick way to check is to see if your Moon is sitting at 28, 29 or 0 degrees of the sign. If so it *may* be void, and bears further investigation. If your Moon is at 25 degrees or earlier, chances are you do NOT have a Void Moon.

CANCER is famous for moods. Like the MOON that rules them, they have cycles, moods, ebbs and flows. Their watery depths beg for exploration, and fascinating though they are, they are equally inscrutable. Like the secrets locked away in the tides of the ocean’s movements, the CRAB’S temperament is simultaneously mesmerizing and changeable.
The MOON is the archetypal symbol for feminine, receptive energy. In all ancient cultures the MOON was worshipped, usually as a feminine symbol. The MOON moves through its cycle very quickly, which is why it has a reputation for causing moodiness, changeability, sensitivity and delusions. The MOON governs emotions, dreams and longing. It is the endless ebb and flow of all cycles in life, such as the tides. This is the energy of the vast sub-conscious, which gives forms to all the dreams, emotions and fears contained by humanity. The MOON also rules sleep, and desires or needs that come from a deeper source than our conscious understanding. This is why human behavior can become erratic and bizarre under the MOON’s influence. Most Police officers are aware that violent crime and incidents of drunk driving increase dramatically during the full MOON. The word lunatic is based on the Latin root luna, which means MOON. Imbalances in the MOON or lunar energy in a Natal Chart can indicate deep emotional issues to be dealt with and sleep disorders. However, the MOON can also impart extreme sensitivity, visual acuity, good memory, and the ability to comfort and nurture. Cancer is the only sign ruled by the MOON. Cancers usually have an innate understanding of deep human emotion. Cancers are sensitive, caring and emotional, or if they see these qualities as weaknesses, they can be insensitive and unkind. Generally this unkindness is a way of covering their deep feelings of insecurity. Either way they are responding to the element of emotion in their natures. The challenge of course is to find an appropriate and useful way to deal with their feelings, which can be very overdeveloped.
